This was another game from the internal Team Australia tournament for members rated 950-1200, and this was another game where I play some entirely unsound aggressive tactics, mostly for fun and to see what would happen!
The game started with a von Hennig Gambit against my opponent's Caro-Kann Defense (1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. Nc3 dxe4 4: Bc4!?) and Black responded with the very good (4... b5). Immediately striking down the queenside is a good way of fighting back against the von Hennig - forcing White to move their bishop a second, and possibly third time, with the possibility of trapping the bishop.
The big takeaway from this game is that you probably shouldn't play the bishop sacrifice opening in the von Hennig Gambit. Although the attack looks scary, there isn't quite enough power to make it work.

Thanks for the video! It's cool to see my game being made and evaluated 😀 The reason I didn't trade at 11:26 was because I wanted to fork your rooks by moving nf2. Easily defendable by your bishop which you did but that was my idea 😂

You did well to get a draw from that position, but I think your evaluation of the position after the Queens came off was wrong. It doesn't matter that he could no longer castle as his King was safe and his Rooks were about to become connected. You have no central pawns, whereas he does, so I don't think you really have any compensation for the piece. All the more remarkable that you got a draw, so well done.

Compensation is always relative. It's about the suite of tactical resources available. Black was definitely completely winning at that position, but they needed to be willing to immediately trade down material. By not doing this, it gave me the opportunity to consolidate and counterattack.
