Wonderfully funny sketch Rita was great very nice seeing this again And Glen Campbell appearance at the end was delightful, R.I. P. Harvey Rita and Glen what a Great TV moment. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love dear Rita...a true Hollywood legend and great beauty....plus, a real good sport to do this hilarious sketch! ; ) ...On a sad and poignant note, Rita was also the one who put a famous celebrity name to the awful disease, Alzheimer's, which led to her death in 1987 at the age of 68. It's ironic that Glen Campbell was in this sketch at the end, as he too would succumb from the ravages of Alzheimer's at the age of 81 in 2017. May they both rest in peace....we'll never forget them
Yes, she did asked. I was listening to Carol’s autobiography and she mentioned Rita’s participation. She said Rita was a simple woman… went to the studio without her entourage… ❤
I thought the same thing too! then I thought hey maybe it is Eunice lol, if the character had a daughter, but I think they only ever mentioned her having sons haha
I'm glad Rita did this. It is a shame how little awareness for Alzheimer's there was at the time. I think it ruined her legacy because reporters went to the assumption that she was another Hollywood alcoholic. I have shared her films with many millennials that now idolize her.
Sad that both Rita Hayworth and Glen Campbell were taken out by Alzheimer's. Her still-beloved ex-husband Orson Welles was the first to call it (after she'd made some public appearances in which she was mistakenly thought to be intoxicated). "She was not a drunkard--She had the same illness that ended John Barrymore..." said Welles.
Rita was taken advantage of by leeches in the entertainment industry & personal life. She also was a real person and this was her first TV appearance & the Carol Burnett Show wasn't petty. A great way for her to say hi to her fans & have fun for a change
@@carolburnettcomedyqueen521 Any chance you have the sketch when Carol Burnett sings 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy' as ALL 3 sisters of The Andrew Sisters..Patty, Maxine & Laverne. Have been searching to find it for a looooong time!! I have all the TimeLife Collection & Lost Episodes dvds but unfortunately this song sketch was not included! If not, how can I find it & obtain/purchase it???
Rita was a legendary beauty and enormously talented in the forties and she's still beautiful here twenty years later. She had a sad life though, with abusive husbands who want through her money like water, and alzheimers stealing her intelligence and memory.
Please, just what year was this?Someone talked about Rita being so beautiful in the forties, and how she was still beautiful her twenty years later,.So,I suppose then that this was probably sometime in the sixties.Am I correct, please?Anyway,Go bless the dear memory of screen legend Rita Hayworth.
Zaphod Broxbeeble according to a documentary about Rita H,she was abused by her father for years 😢😔 she was his dancing partner when she was a child ,so understandably she had trouble coming to terms with that ,abuse victims can feel as though they ‘ deserved ‘ it .Thank god she found some kind of peace / stability living with her daughter who helped look after her in her later years ...
Oh was Taco Bell around in 1972 ? At least in Philadelphia they weren't they're were hardly any McDonald's or KFc's in Philly in the 70's , much less Taco Bell's

Love Rita, I'm old as dirt. Liked Carol, but this wasn't the greatest. Especially considering it WAS a Super Star Rita Hayworth on her show. It could and SHOULD have been a lot better than this.
Yeah that would be on the writers. I read Rita's bio and at this time she was having memory loss issues. So I don't know if they didn't do anything too elaborate because of that. I just hoped she had fun.
Dude, Rita appeared in a number of sketches on this episode, and this sketch was all Carol anyways...ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fjwzYcsgZxY.html
Ditto. That is her falsetto voice she uses a lot. She does a better job of faking the old lady voice as Mama. This sketch reminds me of the old I Love Lucy Show when Lucy bothered William Holden at the Brown Derby. Not one of their funnier sketches. I'm surprised Vicki has not had her gums fixed for show biz.
It wasn't an eternal gem, but, it had its moments. At least it was played as you would expect in real life as a nosy, over-zealous fan might act and a vain movie-star might respond.
OMG! Rita loks amazing except that wig(I hope!) she shoulda gone to "Prefidia!!" if she could fit her in,haha, in 1971 I think she have been an Amazingly gifted 21/4 year old, But Barbie can be a BN-word! Seriously! Gorgeous! Much better than "Pal Joey" sorry kids! Also, Perry W. In the pix it does like Eunice! So Funny!! Ciao for now, haha, I have been up for days! Stressing, scared of The Doctor & That "prison dentist(I think they get more attention!)3 cavities filled and 2 days later that side of my had half a football in it! Who ever got an infection from fillings? ME!!!xooxo
Carol is magnificent, indeed, but her partner (her sister, I presume) - below average, she has no vis comica at all. Hardly watchable today. And that voice! Probably Carol was a good sister and tried to help her acting career but had done otherwise.
