TMPanos96 Yeah, because that was the actual Karl who came back to life to film a historically inaccurate scene. He never met Peter in real life, Peter was the one declaring the war out of practically nowhere, there was no build up like they portray in that scene with a trade deal, that never happened.
@TMPanos96 peter declared war and struck Sweden first, while Charles lived by a very strict code of conduct in most things including war. That code being "I have resolved never to start an unjust war, but never to end a legitimate one except by defeating my enemies."
@@Tramseskumbanan That's because Jakob Karasiak, the Re-enactor shares blood with Karl, according to geni.com (6th Cousin 11 times removed, apparently). He got the role because he started as a Carolean but people noticed his likeness to the king.
@@drabantcorper4727 They dident stand still, they were chasing the russian army which had burned every village and food the swedes could get hold of, basiclly starving a moving army
what is the name of the flag because I can't find the name of it. I hgave searched Swedish empire flag and some other non carolean flag has come up. What do?
I think that is the answer in introducing bored American kids to history: Take them to a Sabbaton Concert and a "Civil War" concert. (the lead vocal for "Civil War" is awesome!)
After many times of rewatching this I notice that the guy that is obviously supposed to be Carolus himself at 5:02 walks up to the very front of the scene, takes of his cloak and hat and draws his sword to do the pose that his statue in Stockholm does. Sword to the side with the right hand and pointing to the east (Russia) with the left. That's pretty epic.
@Knasterreal1 It's impossible to say that Carolus died from a friendly bullet because we just do not know what happened. We are probably never going to find out either so.
@@arm4nduk3 Gustav Vasa is most commonly referred as The father of the nation. His mythical and in some cases romanticized adventures in Dalarna followed by the war of liberation has a very special place in the hearts of so many. His actual name was Giöstaff Eriksson, later Gustav Eriksson or simply King Gustav. The name “Gustav Vasa” only came to be more than two centuries later during the reign of Gustav III.
I am from an Austrian town that the Karoliner conquered during that war if only for a few weeks. I can´t name the reason I still get ghoosebumps when I watch this. Gåshud i Österrike
Hi i know its three years later but im very curious to know what town this is? Im certain the caroleans never went into todays boundaries of Austria, however quite possibly during the 30 years war only Swedish soldiers at that time werent called Caroleans (Karolin,Karoliner).
@@RAEJDER Sweden did occupy a remarkable part of Austria at that time, yet could not hold it for longer than approximately a year. Especially Lower Austria was under Swedish reign (they came from the north via today's Czech Republic), before they continued along the Danube heading for Vienna. My hometown Krems was taken by the Swedish in March 1645. The Swedish commander at that time was LtCol Kaspar Kornelius Mortaigne de Potelles.
Always refreshing to see those who have the courage to love their history, culture, and people. All too often today folks are told the opposite. That countries and people shouldn't be proud of themselves. I don't care where you live. Love your history, culture, and people. Then celebrate it and remember those lost. Just like what happened here.
@@rainerbloedsinn182 It has been one of the most religius countrys in the world and i, being a christian, wish that it was like that again. so... GOD BLESS SWEDEN! GOD BLESS CAROLUS!
I know they’ll never do it... But IF/WHEN we get an album or some songs about the American Revolution It would be really cool to have some American Revolution reenactors on stage. With the 13 star flag.... And maybe Washington?
Ikr. The closest they've been is Aus. 😭 I've been fortunate to have seen them live twice when I was travelling, but still. I hope they do an epic world tour when all this shit is over.
Unfortunally we can´t afford to travel to Scotland, otherwise we would gladly perform with Sabaton again, like this, in Scotland. And, of course, taste some whisky. Regards, the caroleans.
@Vic rocks After 5 years of trying to convince the ottomans to join him in the war against Russia yes he went back home. Well the sultan got sick of him but Carolus refused to leave for a long time. Even though the council in Stockholm begged him to return already after 1 year in Turkey.
Nahhh.. in islam that word was not for sad.. its just, well you can search that up because i cant really specific that to you because maybe you wont understand my word or you can search up islam battle theres always shouting Allah huakbar"
That's my point. I was saying he was sad that Sabaton was singing about the warriors of Protestant God and they haven't sung about warriors of Islam God.
DaneShady han sa "nu har vi haft 52 spelningar Europa runt. Och nu är jag fan less på hårdrock" så drog han fram en synth och spelade "jump" av van halen lol
Me, an Australian atheist, when the pretty European men march onstage with a Swedish flag while the burly European men sing the Lord's Prayer in Swedish: FADER VAR, SOM AR I, HIMMELEN
@@kornaros96 Yeah, I wish. But my love for Sabaton made me follow the regulations. But, when we work for them on Open Air Conserts, then there are no regulations. Then we use full power. :-D
If youre a Swede could you type in the orders the officer gives to the soldiers and translate them. So both in Swedish and English I would very much appriciate it. Thanks in advance.
But of course, I will give it a try. First he says "Gör eder ferdige" - "get ready", that is when we cock our rifles. Then he says "lägger an"- "attaches", that´s when start to aim. After that, he says "ge fyr!"-"give fire!", and you see what we do. After that, he says "bräcker av"-"breaks off" and we take down our muskets and leave the stage. I hope this was useful for you.
Funny fact. It was I who contacted Sabaton and asked them if they wanted our partisipartion. And I wanted to do this with Follow the Cipher because they helped Sabaton write the lyrics for the album Carolus Rex. But my team-members said no to work for Follow the Cipher. Otherwise, It would have been an anorter band.
@@stenjohansson9360 well, props to you then, cuz it ended up looking amazing. So were you one of the people in the video or were you just the person who contacted them?
