THIS IS ALL MY OPINION, but I think after analyzing the video of their performance at Ball State which was posted by AllThingsMusic I believe the piano dynamic at measure 1 is to loud. I would suggest something softer like ppp, then crescendo to a p and decrescendo to a pp. Then keep building the dynamics like you did in this arrangement all while bringing out the mellophone "runs" if that is what you would call them. Secondly, in the same section, I would suggest dropping down a baritone part or tuba part an octave or something like that because there is a depth missing to the chords, lower notes that I cant here in your arrangement. (basically split the tuba like in measure 4 for the first 3 measures). My next point of concern is when you have baritone 1 and 2 playing these two half notes in measures 5 and7, then again in 13 and 15. When I listen to the Ball State recording I do not really here these notes being played, but that could just be me. Next, I do not necessarily here the 3rd trumpet come in at measure 14. It sounds like the mellophones go unison there on the G and E to me, but I could be wrong because they are playing so freakin quietly. during the section where the corp "unwinds" themselves from around the stagecoach which is your measure 22 I know the mellophone 1 part plays the beginning over again because crown posted a stagecoach cam showing their opener from the prospective of the stagecoach. the video is on titled "mourning" on their channel. However, the parts you have written for the mellophones might be for mellophone 2. Next, the impact point at measure 48 does not sound deep enough, nor have the correct intensity. I would experiment with adding in a tuba/mellophone/baritone part sort of like I suggested in measures 1-3, but now for measures 48-50 to add some depth. Then bump up the dynamics to max for measure 48. Lastly, the cord at measure 50 sounds completely wrong to me. It just sounds to happy and bright. I would probably lower the trumpet part down to a D,B and a G, but following my previous suggestion could fix the problem entirely. I hope you have a lot of success with this and wish you would transcribe the whole show. Also, watch other peoples transcription videos if you haven't already to compare and contrast your arrangement to other peoples. thanks for reading this stupid long comment and have a fantastic day! I know right! They were definitely better than the blue devils! (and I think they sounded better than the blue coats too, but I seem to be the only one)

I thought the same thing. They sounded better but the bluecoats were more showy. Which was why they won GE. I thought for sure that crown would win second though.

+Cybernoid200 I completely agree. I'm very biased when it comes to Coats and Crown because I've always loved them so much more the Blue Devils. But last year the Blue Devils shouldn't have won. 2014 was debatable too.
