His shelf life is very quickly getting to the expired stage. Tired of waiting for this Russian power forward that is gonna roll over folks to appear. Seems like we got the Russian Penalty Machine version instead.

Rods inflexible system and limitations in terms of making in-game adjustments has failed to get it done in the playoffs for six consecutive seasons. And oh btw if talented players like Necas & Kotchetkov are unable to flourish then perhaps Rod's insistence that every player on the Canes musf be a two-way juggernaut in his image is ludicrous. RBA has proven to be a lousy tactician and guys like Necas & Kotchetkov are just the resulting collateral damage.

Canes should sign Sprong. He would give us some depth scoring that we desperately need

@ScottStenlund Sprong wouldn’t win us a cup. I agree that we prbly won’t win this year. Next season we have a chance. 10 mil in cap space with no d-men to replace. Burns and Orlov out, Morrow and Nikishin in. Freddie leaves and Kochetkov takes over the crease. We’ll sign a veteran backup for 2 mil. We will replace Roslovic and Fast with Jackson Blake, Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger Sorum. By next year, these guys can develop into Top 6 or Middle 6 guys. that can leave us with 6 million to sign depth scoring. In this realistic Scenario, we can be cup contenders

@ScottStenlund Fair point, but it seems like Unger Sorum is NHL ready this year. Morrow is fringe NHL this yr but should be ready next yr. I have no doubt Nikishin will be ready. Nadeau and Blake aren’t as surefire but they each have been rapidly developing, so if they stay in pace they should be ready by then
