Gender data gap is indeed a tremendous problem which affects our lives every single day. It should be required by law to ground decisions on gender specific data at least in medicine and transport safety. Thanks so much to the researcher for bringing this problem to the fore

We are in a decade of change.....women know and are aware that they are needed to solve the big problems (environment, climate, injustice etc) in this world. Men had their chance and failed.....

Firstly, when discussing data it would be useful to put it in the context of the Iceberg model of change. The middle layer i.e. the structure is the area where the reality (effective) meets the abstract - and is critical to our lives. We live our lives by following the path of least resistance i.e. we either adapt to or tolerate the “invisible” structure , of which the majority of us are completely unaware of. Secondly, I also believe that we should start by better understanding and appreciating the spectrum of masculinity (or even toxic masculinity) vs femininity rather than feminism. It is gender neutral. Thirdly, we should put more emphasis on the concept of wholeness, which should help us act/behave in a much less ignorant or “blind” way.

I didn't want to cringe and die listening to this. Thanks this could be very valuable to a very male dominated set of groups I am involved in.

The very same idea of snowplowing was implemented in Stockholm (a large city) instead of in Karlskoga (a tiny one with 27k inhabitants). This "feminist snowplowing" caused massive cost increases! It pretty much shut down the city, causing delays and millions in extra costs. So no, that idea was as stupid as anyone that has ever lived and worked in areas with a lot of snow will know. You *have* to clean the main roads first, because this is the roads that are used by; busses, *_emergency vehicles_* and trucks that bring in food and other essentials to the city. If the roads they are using are shut down (which is the case in "feminist snow plowing") they can't move and hundreds of thousands of people can't get to work. Ambulance, police and the fire brigades takes much longer to get to emergencies. Shops don't get their groceries, so how are you going to "buy food after work" when you can't get to work and can't find food in the shops. Answer me that please. Because that was the case in Stockholm following this moronic feminist idea. This all happened in 2016 which is 3 years before the speaker/author made these comments. So a serious researcher would know this, but a dishonest one would omit what happened, and only mention a small city . If you read Swedish then this article [2] by a woman explains just how stupid this feminist idea is. Actually she mentioned the problem with snowplowing in Stockholm in her book (left out here due to time constraints I guess), but she put it in context and stated after the first not so successful year they improved it...so not a bad research on her part, but rather a case of improving on a project instead of giving up on the first try and demonising the idea 😉

Pretty sure they clear major roads first because the majority of people paying their taxes and going to businesses are driving to them on main roads. A woman or man walking around smaller streets to schools and shops arent getting paid for it so it isnt generating tax income for the government. Obviously all of this should be worked out with detailed models to make sure they are doing the optimal thing, but it seems to make more sense to clear roads so people can get to and from work first to keep businesses running and keep the government receiving tax, than to do the smaller roads first

@Melissa Burnell yeah i agree. Lets examine it. But i think most people do want a biased society. The world will always have biases. Why do doctors get paid more than toilet cleaners. Is that biased? Why do people who are good looking get paid more, is that biased? Why do people who dont apologise for their crimes get longer jail sentences. Is that biased? Like biases are an intrinsic part of being a human. We weigh up the situation and make a decision based on how we feel. I agree we want less biases but dont forget that in nearly all decision making (government, job interview, etc) the person making the decision is out for themselves and trying to make their own money for their own family or company and trying to do the thing that benefits them the most, so they will always be biased in that direction. And that is just human nature

Also who builds the world? Who creates new thing like tech? Who risk and puts themselves in danger to get minerals and supplies like oil? Who keep everything running? ALL OF THEM GO DOWN TO MEN! So what you expext the AI will shkw you? Do you think it will consider your feelings and just lie?

Great points! This speaks to huge opportunity for industrial designers and for other fields. Imagine the market for an ergonomically designed cell phone marketed specifically for women. So women, what are you waiting for? Why are you waiting for a man to do the work?

Haven't watched the video - but on this topic, becoming invisible is nothing to do with age, as Liz Hurley at 50+ will definitely get attention walking around, what you should be asking is at what weight do women become invisible? and even then you are not invisible you are just not sexual attractive to most men. Just like how women never see ''short'' men, but no one gives a damn about that. Weight is to women what height is to men.

your comment is entirely unrelated to the video. this has nothing to do with sexual appeal or relations. this video and book is about women being left out of data and research which causes health problems, safety risks and MANY other issues. listen before you comment.

Isn’t it problematic when women become invisible because men no longer find them attractive? Women are more than sexual beings, and deserve to be seen and heard as such. When we age, when we experience life and all it’s emotions, we will gain new wrinkles and our bodies will change but this has been constantly put down, with magazines and social media photoshopping these out, and selling us products in an attempt to hide or prevent them. Ageing is beautiful. Liz isn’t an accurate representation of most women ageing, as we don’t have access to the money, skincare routines, treatments, consultations and advisors etc that she has.
