Couldn't have said it better. 👏 I'm wondering what the conversations with her team are like, how they analyze the last few... well, basically years. Apart from a few surprise successes, she has been way below her abilities... Yet it does feel like she just pushes harder on the same losing plan.

I’m afraid that if you made a highlights video with only unforced errors, Garcia would take most of the light as well. And that’s exactly why she keeps losing, disappointing and underperforming. Sad.

Putinsteva is also very short

she just makes stupid choices.. standing a foot inside the baseline on every second serve and volleying’s only gonna work so many time

game style is way too risky, when she's good she's really good, when she's bad she's really bad

She's a brainless ball basher. Sometimes such players hit a hot streak where they can't miss, but on a long enough timeline the unforced errors pile up.

I’m afraid this is a desperate cause at this point in her career. She should have understood that many years ago. But she keeps thinking that it’s best for her to insist with this extremely aggressive game, and she has no plan B whatsoever when she can’t keep those bombs inside the lines… She should have grown up by now, and learned to manage her frustration and learn patience and risk management tactics. Maybe she should play golf, speaking of a game that teaches you to manage frustration ! 😅

Paolini is not an average player.

Indeed. For years. She reminds me of Henri Leconte. A great ball striker but either it was all in, and nobody could beat him, or 1 ball strike in 2 would be hitting the wall at the end of the court. Obviously the latter was most frequent. Still was incredible to watch on these rare occasions when he was all in. Like the Davis Cup against the USA.

She is half polish, her mother is polish.💕

Keeping the ball inside the court helps. Not sure Garcia has understood that yet.
