Caroline Quentin travels through Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu to the sub-continent's southern tip, visiting the `City of Palaces' Mysore, where she receives a guided tour from a snake guru. Caroline ventures into the Malnad region to track down a healer who claims he can cure cancers, before helping to bathe elephants in the Keralan backwaters. Her journey ends with a dip in the holy waters of Kanyakumari, where the Bay of Bengal, the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea meet.
Caroline Quentin takes viewers on an epic journey through India providing a personal insight into one of the world's most remarkable and diverse countries. Caroline's eye-opening adventure aims to discover what goes on in the modern Indian life as well as challenge preconceptions of the subcontinent. Caroline will experience India's remarkable contrasts, from expansive, breathtaking landscapes such as Kanha National Park to dense, humid metropolises including Kolcutta and Mumbai, which encompass the extremes of wealth and often desperate poverty in close proximity.

Caroline has a gift for communicating with people, which shines in this delightful documentary. She comes across as a kind and also very brave (snakes!) person. I enjoyed this series very much, thank you.

Did he say, he's the only one who makes Mysore pak? I live in Mysore. It's available everywhere. The one that is made with clarified butter is the best...though there are other ones. Also everyone in Mysore knows about Snake Shyam. My great -aunt's arthritis was healed with Kottakal Ayurveda. Before that she suffered immensely with the pain, and the allopathic medication she was taking was only helping her with the pain and nothing else. They pain medication was also addictive. Finally, Ayurveda was her last resort. She was 86 when she died. I studied in Ooty. Tea, cheese, homemade chocolates and fudges, warm fresh bread from the bakeries are nostalgic memories.

He said he makes the Mysore Pak which is one of it's kind which is the original. Yes, you can get Mysore pak everywhere, but the original is from there which he claims.

@@adityajoies Yes, that's what I mean. He claims, to making the original. But noone knows this to be true.

Operative word "could" 200 rupees or less than $3.00 a day/.37 hr - so this guy is really making out as his labor cost for picking is basically free.

Great content there Caroline. I think your gift to the healer was rather useless. No offence. Love from Kenya.

Her gift to the healer may be “useless”, but the sentiment behind it is genuine and precious!!

Dude, who are you? Are you a pakistani with a fake id? Or maybe a 9 yr old who has lot of spare time? Or maybe you are just plain stupid? Man there are so many cowards, jealous people nowadays, sitting behind a screen and spouting nonsense.

Is it apparent that she fall in love with her guide? All this talking about snakes hide cryptic messages of seduction. Am done here, this nothing to do with culture trip
