I really enjoy your videos! I'm from Melbourne, Australia so I can't watch live but it's been fantastic to catch up a day or two later. I've learned lots from you already. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!

Sam McKenna Thank you so much for watching when ever you can Sam! I hope one day we’ll have time that does work for you in the future. And I’m super happy you find the videos useful! Thank you for taking the time to say so. :)

dang... missed it again. Busy day today. I discovered pull on jeans when I bought a pair of jags on amazon. I was pleasantly surprised how much they were not like maternity jeans. I think it helps that my waist and hip are only about 6 inches apart. I'm making my morgan jeans in January and I'm thinking I will get a lot of jeans sewing tips in this series. I know you have a a LOT of things going on. I hope more and more sewers join. What a wonderful community.

I know I'm two years late on this, but just a suggestion... It's super hard to follow with the fabric (like you said knowing which way is right side/wrong side). Since it's a tutorial maybe choose a fabric that you can clearly follow and also see on the video... Otherwise, you totally helped me finish my project, thanks!

Hi Katie! Thank you for the feedback! And I’m glad the video helped still. I always try to keep this in mind. But there’s a lot of factors: 1) I’m not sponsored most of the time and I do this for free so I have to pick what is available to me and is affordable 2) I’m always trying to get better about identifying out loud what and where I’m sewing -I think I’ve gotten a little better about this 3) while I do this to help folks, they’re live streams! Not technically tutorials. I know sewists use them for this and that is awesome! But live streams are interactive. I just upload them to help others. 4) It’s surprisingly hard to find fabrics that are available, look good on camera, and look good period haha! I happened to have the chambray and I purchased the plaid. I do appreciate the feed back and I feel like I’ve gotten better at picking fabrics or at least identifying what side I’m on etc even though I don’t technically have to. If it’s my project I pick what I want since I don’t get paid. I hope that makes sense. I’m not trying to sound snarky but I’m sure it sounds like that. I’m just explaining since live streams are a little different. Maybe one day the companies whose patterns I sew will support a little even with a comment, like, or shoutout -and we’ll be able to have even more options! (I only get about $75-100 in ad revenue each month and my overhead to have a live stream is about $1500.) And you’re welcome to join us sometime! Although I have a feeling you’re in quite a different time zone than me ☺️Everyone is super lovely. Enjoy your new jammies too!

Thank you for this, I was having a problem with the pocket, I am making mine from flannelette and am adding the piping. I am following the pattern and the pocket is just so thick around the top and it doesn't look right so I am going to use your method.

Thanks for another great video. One small question though, is there a reason you dont put cord into your piping? Would it be more awkward? I dont use it a lot cos it scares me 😀

Personally I like the softer feel of the piping without a cord. And I bet I didn’t have any and that’s why I didn’t add it. You need to sew very close to it so I recommend a zipper foot. I think it’s cute! But I sleep in my jammies and like it to be softer. Good luck! (I do think i sew cord in a closet case floor pouf video if you need a bit of a demo).

Marcia Vandercapellen I think I have a Juki 8700. It replaced a Juki 5500. Single needle with electronics. :)

Go for it! I’m sure you can buy it from a Closet Case Patterns right now. I think they have pdf versions or maybe you can order a printed version as well. Happy sewing!
