A quick recap of my adventures to Jewell Pond in Colorado. I made it through the freezing rain (and a cold) to a tiny 3-acre pond. Using a hand-made method feeder, I was able to get some pretty decent fishing done! In two 2-hr sessions I managed 4 carp, all within 7-9lbs. I was surprised that my hand-made method feeder out-fished the store bought version 3-to-1. I was also surprised that I didn't lose any fish!!!
I was using a breadcrumb, sweet corn and anise scented pack bait to go along with fake corn on a hair rig. My reels were spooled with 17lb fluorocarbon. Rods were both 6.5ft, one being an Uglystik GX2 Medium Heavy and the other, a Shimano Medium-light fast action.
