I think James said what we all feel about these podcasts being a delightful way to spend a couple of hours, U keep getting em n we'll keep listening.. Top job Sam. 😎
Food for thought, there are some great points to look at further, but I'm not that sure I agree with everything. For instance, with a the carps lips being sensitive. I've had multiple occasions of carp hooking themselves while surface fishing while using a light self hooking controller where the fish has tried to to carry on feeding, seeming not to notice that it was hooked until I tighten up to it.
Another thought provoking episode, top shelf stuff as always. I hope that James takes no offense to what I am about to say but it is obvious that he is not an expert on this subject, and if you are talking science and you are not an expert then whatever. Sorry but ya know? I do get it. Color is light bouncing off the subatomic structure of objects and all that... apparently a mantis shrimp can see 9 primary colours so who knows? An expert thats who! ❤❤❤
Hey Russ - Thanks for the feedback. I won't ever claim to be an expert - there are no letters after my name - I have just always been curious as to why things happen the way they do - especially in the wonderful world of carp fishing where carp vision isn't spoken about much. I'm always keen to learn more so please lmk if you think there are areas that I should look into further. DM if preferred. Would love to jump on a call to discuss this further :)
What I meant to say is if you’d like to know maybe I’d let you know via your bait company. Ps I hope I didn’t come across as a bit harsh on James anyway peeaaaace
James would be the man to ask but I recon it’s impossible to tell. What I do is break up the outline of braid with marker pens. I recon that’s probably the best bet
Given the different makeup of their eyes IMO it is impossible to tell how they see them. My advice is to get them pinned to the bottom & out of the way.
Another interesting one,I break up the outline of my braid ,no straight lines in nature Always makes you think now the big manufacturers are promoting coloured braided main line
I love this podcast I really do Unfortunately this "expert" was a little ignorant on many points and on many just incorrect. That said its nice to see some debate pointed towards sight, some points are perfectly valid and interesting, certainly something to consider when fishing.
Glad you liked the podcast :) As I stated, these are my opinions from evidence I’ve found over the years from reading up on the research papers & the few articles I have been able to find online. Am keen to learn as much as possible on the subject so please lmk the areas you think I need to research further. DM if preferred.
