omg my hand have been hurting so bad this week and this morning im in tears. found my daughters gym bag with her kT tape and found your video. i cannot belive this has stopped the pain. this is magical. thank you from the deepest parts of my heart. thank you thank you thank you.
The best tape is the brand name you can't pronounce! What's most important it where the tape should be stretched. Thanks for the video, committed to bring relief to those in pain!
Thank you for this video, I've been in extreme pain & I'm desperate for relief without resorting to pain medication. Crossing my fingers (metaphorically of course) that this helps.
Using the video to apply the same technique using Athletic tape. Definitely a decent learning tool, and I could use one more resource, particularly because I think I pulled something at work tonight, in the affect hand with C.T. Thanks for the help.
Thank you so much! At the moment this is relieving a little but of pain for me. Can you make more videos focusing on the flexor part of the wrist? Anything that pulls at my thumb seems to add to my discomfort so I have been avoiding those methods.
Trying to get tendon inflammation to heal quicker, I find, is like trying to cure a canker sore. It just doesn't work. It just needs time, and try not to trigger the pain. Doing all these kinesiology techniques and all these tapes and stretches just aggravates it of anything. Save your $10 people, if you wanna wrap it just use gauze or something. Having it wrapped maybe helps by reminding you not to move it a certain way but it doesn't matter what you wrap it with or what percentage of stretch you put on it. It's all placebo. It feels like it's working the tendon/inflammation so people assume its doing something. But really, you don't want to be feeling that, ideally you would keep your wrist perfectly still and not feel anything during the healing process, which will take as long as it's going to despite your efforts. Try keep it still, or brace it entirely, and give it a few weeks. I won't say k-tape and/or kinesiology is a scam, but it's _maybe_ a notch above chiropractors. Best thing to do is preventative measures for next time. Stretch often, stay hydrated, blah blah.
So helpful. I've been looking for tattoo cover up tape that actually works, so I can wear it on stage. I'm a ballet dancer and we can't have tattoos showing. Also bonus...it will help my carple tunnel and any other injuries I may have.😊
The good thing with these kind of Kinesio tape sorts are that there are nude color available... I really understand it's very important for people performing on stage and I'm a violinist and have the similar thing for the tape not being seen/to show...
I have carpel tunnel in both hands but I also have a pinched ulnar nerve and if there is any tape on the outer portion of the right hand irritates my pinkie finger do you have any suggestions on how to tape my hand ?
honestly it doesn't matter. just wrap it in something, gauze or nothing, whatever. If you have carpel tunnel or tendinitis, none of these quick fixes will make it heal any sooner. Just try not to make the motions that trigger the pain, and give it a few weeks, that's all you can do. But wrapping it I find at least reminds me not to move my wrist a certain way so there's that.. After trying these tapes and stretches and techniques from videos like this, many times over several flare ups, I concluded that trying to get tendon inflammation to heal is like trying to fix a canker sore or neck kink... Nothing helps, it just goes away when it does... Then again, I'm not a doctor... But then again, again, neither are kinesiologists.
hey is there any references do you wanna provide it for this, i read some articles regarding effectiveness of K tape on Pelvic Asymmetry and all of em reached to a conclusion that it only creates Placebo.
KSD thanks for the comment! There is no reference for this exact method of taping. The idea with this tape application is to provide support and to serve as an external cue to avoid straining the wrist. You are correct regarding research on kinesiology tape: there is no single study that shows this tape as effective as a single treatment to carpal tunnel or any pathology for that matter. Activity modification is going to be one of the best solutions for carpal tunnel, but if wearing tape to act as an external cue helps someone to be conscientious of their wrist position, I think it’s worth trying.
