The Carpenters were anything but banal. Listen to the songs and the music. The marketing and album covers I think never represented them properly. Richard has spoken about this and was not happy how they were portrayed. They both had senses of humour and were quite good at being interviewed. This interview was fine. These people are not the Carpenters but they are talented people none the less. They are putting on shows and music and keeping the spirit of The Carpenters alive. Nothing wrong with that!!!

That’s a pretty out there take. As a musician myself I’ve always found universal respect for the carpenters amongst fellow musicians. You’re a confident little wobbly one, aren’t you?
