“Bacharach Medley” is one of my favorite Carpenters musical piece. Sally, you did magnificent job with your interpretation, and singing in a “closet”! It must have great acoustics. Enjoyed very much, as with all your Carpenters Legacy performances! 💜🎧🎤🎼🥁🎹🎵💜

There was some “waffle foam” acoustic paneling on parts of the walls, but this is fantastic sound, for not being recorded in a true isolation booth, as vocals sometimes are - Sally can fill you in on that 🙂!

Thank you! We love the Bacharach Medley too. It's a challenge, but also a lot of fun. We've since moved into a more sophisticated recording studio since this was done. However, we got a great result here just the same.

I grew up with '70's radio, which of course included the Carpenters in heavy rotation. Karen is my favorite female singer. ❤ Sally, you are, by far, the closest to match her voice. It is truly EXTRAORDINARY!! 👏👏👏👏 Hopefully, you will go back on tour soon. 🙏

Thank you so very much! I sincerely appreciate your comment. I've been performing as Karen Carpenter since 2015 and perfecting my craft as an impersonator and tribute artist every day. I'm blessed to naturally have a voice very similar to Karen's, but the perfection (or close to perfection) comes in the details...attention to the vocal inflections, phrasing, gestures, mannerisms, etc. We are busy at our Las Vegas residency in the V Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Mondays through Thursdays. Our touring schedule will pick up again this fall. Where are you located? Thanks again for your lovely words. ♥💕🎼🎵🎹

I don't know a lot about all of the technical details, but I can hear Karen's sound in your phrasing, especially in the higher notes. It gives me literal chills! 🥰 I can hear your improvement in just the last few years too. 😊 I think you were close to where I live in the South on your last tour. I missed it, but searched for you and Ned on RU-vid and was amazed! 🤗 Don't worry, I won't miss your next tour, if you are close enough. 😉

@@LM... Thank you again so much for your kind words. Yes, I've paid very close attention to Karen's phrasing, vocal inflections, movements and mannerisms. All those things are so important to recreate the full essence of Karen, in addition to the tonal voice quality. I would agree that I have improved in the past few years. I'm sure it's mainly due to the repetition as we perform our show a minimum of four times a week. Practice makes perfect! Where are you located in the South? We have more tour dates coming up this fall and winter.

Here I am, Sally - I tried replying directly to you below, but this board is acting weird 🤪 … I wanted to add that the lower-end of your range is getting lower and stronger ❤️ - that’s where Karen lives, as you know well 😁 (her so-called “basement” register)! I was trying to rummage around in this site to see if I could find a recent reading of “Rainy Days and Mondays”, but couldn’t get to any of the other videos 😮😅! I think that’s the lowest Karen went on-record - I think she’s down into male tenor range 😮! Just exquisite 🥰!

Sorry that you are having issues with the comment board. That is strange. Thank you for your kind words about the lower-end of my range. That's where I love singing the most and I think it's where I most sounds like Karen. I just realized that I don't have a full version video of "Rainy Days And Mondays", but I do have an excerpt from the very first version of my promo video that was filmed back in 2017. This is actually one of the only moments from the original promo video that we keep in our current promo video because it came out so well, both visually and sound-wise. I just posted the excerpt on our RU-vid channel so that it's easy to find (see link below.) In our show, "Rainy Days And Mondays" is in the context of the Hits Medley, so naturally it isn't the entire song. I'm putting together a compilation of video clips from our recent show at the Downey Theatre on April 24 (part of the Carpenters 55th Anniversary Celebration). The video will contain "Rainy Days And Mondays" as performed in the Hits Medley.
