A few days ago I finished the new terrarium for my boa ( inspierd by you) I put a lot of dirt branches plants and enrichment etc, I also gave her light for the first time. I am amazed! She is so much more active and today I saw her digging with her head wich was amazing! I cant belive I used to keep my boas in tubs!

Looks Awesome 👌 You may want to drill a hole in the bottom of the arboreal water holds (no not the water dish for anyone reading this) to allow them to drain out when misting/spraying. It helps to keep the drinking water cleaner/lower in bacteria, in my humble opinion.

Great video, astonishing enclosure and what a great way to look at keeping smaller animals. It sure is easier and less intense to make an enclosure for an ackie then it is for a tegu. Bigger isn't always better though I love my argentine red tegu.

Love it Dillon! Some great showcasing and idea sharing. I adore carpets so this was a real treat 😁 I would disagree about smaller carpets not trashing vivs (Winston? is obviously a well behaved jungle 😆) A couple of my jungles really go to town disconnecting cables, popping vent covers, dislodging fake plants or sky hides 😂🤣😂🤣 It keeps me entertained, and helps me recognise where I should be snake proofing 🫢 How does the phase go; a bad workman always blames their tools 🛠️
@AnimalsatHomePodcast
@AnimalsatHomePodcast Год назад
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it! Haha I will keep that in mind for the future… Maybe this carpet will eventually become an enclosure re-designer himself 😆 “Winston” is my central American boa… he loves to renovate 😆

Really cool to see carpet pythons in enclosures like that. Seeing them in the wild they seem to use perching exactly like you have setup. Multiple points of contact. I’m slowly beginning to switch my carpets over into the same way and you have given me some inspiration. Well done!

Awesome build & thanks for sharing. Is the substrate collected by you or purchased? If collected how do you make sure its ok to use apart from visually checking for bugs etc? Tyia
@AnimalsatHomePodcast
@AnimalsatHomePodcast Год назад
Thank you for watching! The Substrate is a mix of store bought potting soil, coconut coir, orchid bark and collected leaf litter (which are baked at 200 F for 1 hour) to kill any unwanted pests

Nimble you say😂 My coastal is 2.9 meters and 4 kilos. She is not overweight though. Perfect neck/body ratio and no scale spread with still that slenderissh body. She loves to climb and any thought of bioactive is a sad memory of crushed and torn up plants. Also for anyone thinking of getting one, she is only hiding at night, "hunting" at late evenings and/or 2ish hours before sunrise. During the day she basks on a branch, without exception, under the jungledawn light so no daytime hiding for her.
@AnimalsatHomePodcast
@AnimalsatHomePodcast 11 месяцев назад
😂😂 yeah I’m happy my jungle won’t get nearly that big haha! And yes, exact same behaviour from mine. He basks in the open every single day.

@@AnimalsatHomePodcast they have such huge personalities. I wish people gave them a chance as a beginner snake. They are soo much easier to keep than forinstance ballpythons. Also the interaction is for me cooler.

how big of a tank should i get for a carpet python?
@AnimalsatHomePodcast
@AnimalsatHomePodcast 2 месяца назад
It depends on the species. The smaller species would be fine one a 4x2x3, the larger species need a 6 or 8 foot long enclosure with 3-4 feet of height
