You are so blessed to have such a WONDERFUL family!!! As you mentioned, that would have been nearly impossible to do with just you and Tessa. At least safely. Hats off to your family!!! Wow, what a contrast. The car port went from a sturdy structure to a mangled mess. Mother nature can be very unforgiving! What an awesome moment when the MIGHTY Kubota made it out of the collapse!!! It is so tough, it put a dent in the car port 😉. Wow, what a miracle the truck came out with just a few minor issues. We agree, the side racks broke the fall. If not for those, who knows what damage you would have had. You can add some sealant to the bed liner and hopefully that does the trick. Maybe you can build new side rails for the truck with lumber from your property! Great point about learning from this. Not only did I create a snow removal plan, but also a plan to check my vents for the furnace and water heater when the snow builds up. I also picked up some additional carbon monoxide detectors as well. There was a lot to take from this experience. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. So sorry it happened, but it has heightened my awareness. So glad this was covered by your insurance!!! Oh man, a shop would be insanely cool, but those are pretty costly. If it is in your budget, go for it. If not, maybe wait a bit until it makes the most sense for you. May 2023 bring you an abundance of happiness, health, safety, and prosperity!!!
Yes sir it sure is. I would say there was about two feet on it when it collapsed. It may have been predisposed to collapsing however.. I had it up at my old property, and when we moved we tore it down, and put it back up and I think that whole process weakened it. There's a chance that it wasn't as aligned as it was before. It even survived last winter. Still, I'd definitely keep up on the removal of the snow. Thanks for watching!
