ReTyre appears to be very effective with only one application and agitation cycle. Will save me a lot of time when cleaning really neglected tires that require multiple rounds of application and heavy scrubbing to get the rubber clean. The added benefit of not gagging or choking when foaming on the tire is a major benefit and I will definitely be ordering ReTyre right away. Thanks for demonstrating this new product.

Hi Sandro, very interesting & does what it says on the tin, looks like this could be the product that becomes the benchmark for all other rubber/tyre cleaners to be measured by. On the other topic, what a treat to be able to do some real corrective polishing at speed 3, soft start feels a little agricultural but a small price to pay & no hardship letting the rupes do some of the lighter work. So, big thanks for your input (y)

Hello Sandro, i have used ReTyre twice already. Since its winter here in europe, tyres were very very dirty both times. But i choose different approuch and i used only couple pumps on tyres and couple pumps into tyrebrush. As you mentioned, the scrubing with brush do the cleaning here with ReTyre so i used for 8tyres only about 100ml of product, it comes very clean as i did test with microfiber as you did. I was using multix 1:5 for tyres last two years, and fall in love with ReTyre immediately as it clean SO MUCH better! Happy New Year and thanks for your content!

The foam trigger looked very hard to use and you could try in a IK Foam Pro 2 Handheld Pressure Sprayer or similar. Carpro retyre looks like it does at excellent job. The cost wise you would never use this item professionally or as a weekend warrior. You would use Valetpro Bilberry Wheel Cleaner that diluted would cost (5l concentrate) you £26 for 50l which seems to be the industry standard at 52p per litre. For a touch less wheel cleaner I would recommend 25L Car-Chem Iron Detox Bleeding Fallout Remover Wheel Cleaner at £76 which works out at £3.04 per litre again this is the industry standard in the UK and also does an excellent job of dissolving embedded iron on car panels.

Hi Sandro. Great review. Your thoughts mimic mine as well when I was sent a 500ml bottle to test and review. I am sure you will get the same comments as I did which was there was too much product used. But you and I both know that part of testing is learning how to use the product.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
Lol it’s like you knew that all too well! That’s right! Having only 500ml meant that I couldn’t do the usual preliminary testing before filming as I would have ran out of product, and it’s import to test, explore and assess which in many cases means using too much, but it’s hard to determine all that stuff on the fly while trying to concentrate of filming which isn’t something many people understand unless they attempt it themselves 🙂 Thanks for your input mate and wishing you a very happy new year!

@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
Thanks mate, and I still think something like Tr.ix works extremely well, though it is quite aggressive and I just don’t feel comfortable using it as a maintenance wheel cleaner, but more so for periodic physical cleans - it’s the combination of iron and tar removers that just make it so effective. But for regular maintenance touchless wheel cleaning I still love Nv Purge as it’s just got the perfect balance of being both safe but incredibly effective - at least for me🙂

Happy New Year Sandro and enjoyed your first video for 2022. As you used a spray trigger on the diluted solution 1:1, 1:2, could the spray trigger be used in its concentrated form or it requires the foam trigger to work the best? Cheers.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
Happy new year and glad you enjoyed it! You can certainly swap to a standard trigger when using it neat, but there seems to be an advantage in the foaming trigger beginning able to create better and more effective dwelling foam. But I think if the foaming trigger had a slightly broader spray pattern that would allow you to get better coverage faster and use less product which would seem to be the idea situation.
@perfectshave85
@perfectshave85 Год назад
How does it compare to the likes of P&S Brake Buster/Adam's Wheel and tyre cleaner? If it works just as well with 1:1 with water and can clean a tyre with only one pass, there is more value added. But using it neat means going through product much faster. I have read that you don't need to fully coat the tyre for it to work well and that adding a standard nozzle helps with more even coverage so that should help also in making it go a longer way.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Год назад
I haven’t used Adam’s Wheel cleaner and only have limited experience with Brake Buster so I’m not the best person to ask there. I think with all products you can certainly tweak and adjust it to address the contamination/goals at hand, so yes, I think you can tweak the application to suit your needs.
@23hublock1
@23hublock1 Год назад
I like tyre cleaners, and they do a great job, especially Gyeon tyre / rubber. But.....I can't help but think that they can pull essential oils out of the rubber and perhaps cause premature drying / cracking of the rubber?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Год назад
It’s best judge these things on results. I’ve never seen any of my car tyres dry or crack in 25yrs+ and I clean the tyres with similar products weekly if not fortnightly. My tyres look fantastic and always have. There’s a lot of opinions, and scary stories in car detailing, with someone always telling you not to do this or that or always do this and that … but my advice is base your findings on your own results and experiences 🙂
@JordanWells
@JordanWells 2 года назад
Great video and info Sandro! I know you had limited testing with ReTyre, but do you think it would be just effective when used neat on tires if you had scrapped the foaming trigger in place for a normal spray head? Thanks and Happy New Year!
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
Thanks mate, I do think it could potentially work just as well with a normal trigger if the product doesn’t run off the tyre too rapidly. The other thing to test out I’d is just applying the foam straight on the brush and comparing that to directly applying it to the tyre. Happy new year, hope it’s a great one!
@JordanWells
@JordanWells 2 года назад

Very intriguing. I'd love to try this on my truck, as I've never cleaned the tires in any way in the 3 or so years I've had it, so I'm sure it would be incredibly satisfying to use on it (though it needs new tires anyway). Just a general question for either you or anyone else, if something is high PH, is it still able to be used outdoors? Obviously not in direct sunlight, but in terms of environmental, is it safe in that sense?
@ToCHawk
@ToCHawk 2 года назад
I’ve used high ph products outside and it’s fine as long as you don’t let it dry or soak for too long. I’ve used high ph shampoo/soap on cars as a foam wash such as NV Snow+ outside with no issues. Just use it as the manufacture recommends and it’ll be fine. This is just my experience so hopefully someone else will comment and give their insight too
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
I definitely think it would be incredibly satisfying to use it on 3yr old tyres that have never been cleaned! You can certainly use high ph or high alkaline based chemicals outdoors, I did so for many years as a mobile detailer, and it’s even safer being outdoors as you don’t have to worry about having good indoor ventilation. As a shop based detailer I’m required to have a chemical seperator because several cars are being cleaned in the same location for commercial services, but as a general consumer or a non-fixed mobile location I think it should be fine as it’s not constant frequent use in a single area. We all use certain chemicals to keen our homes, maintain gardens, work on our cars or trucks and so on and remember that a high alkaline or even low acid chemicals in the ph scale are found in every home in the world and don’t necessarily determine how strong, weak or safe a product is, ph is just one measurement and doesn’t on it own mean a product is damaging or volatile.

@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
Wise Guy is funny in that it’s really expensive in smaller quantities but really cheap in bulk - which probably matters more because these really aren’t products to buy 500ml or 1L. So at least here locally Wise Guy is much cheaper than ReTyre when you go for the 4L but much more expensive when you go for the 500ml options. But I guess the other question would be how much would you use of each, is one significantly better or quicker at cleaning than the other and what dilutions you’d use them with, which all adds up to labour and product costs - but I don’t have the answer to that yet!
@megasaturndreams6634
@megasaturndreams6634 2 года назад
Appreciate the content. If I was paying between £10 and £13 for 500ml there’s no way I’d be using that much product. Would be good to see how useful it is with a few pumps not a quarter of the bottle 👍🏻
@iShox2711
@iShox2711 2 года назад
Given it's high PH level, would allowing it to drip onto unprotected diamond cut wheels while cleaning be an issue do you think?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
Most modern metal finished wheels are still clear coated these days (you can easily test that by rubbing a spot with polish and see if you pick up the black metal residue), but otherwise just like using a strong acid cleaners you should show caution around bare alloys and steels with ReTyre, bare chrome wheels should be fine though. But a general good practice with all wheels is to rinse the rims first as the standing should also help reduce the likelihood of chemical staining, and maybe just spray your tyre cleaner straight into the brush and just use a ph neutral one if you know you have sensitive rims.

Happy new year mate. Honestly, I actually hate those "foaming" trigger ....... How often or if anyone would expect the foam to cover all area by just spraying on and rinse off ? As for this product...... I will just stick to my cheap diluted APC and occasionally add on degreaser.....

Second thought , if I want to use a expensive /fancy product for my tyre, I will use NV purge ......(just brought a 4L bottle on boxing day 🤣)

Happy New Year! ReTyre like most tyre cleaners is essentially a strong alkaline based APC/degreaser that’s really just been fine tuned for maximum performance on tyres - whether it not it’s going to meet your particular needs is another question! Although Nv Purge is amazing on rims/wheels and also great for tyre maintenance cleaning, it’s really not as effective on badly soiled tyres where a strong alkaline cleaner always seems to excel rather than an iron removal based wheel cleaner.

What is the other product you used with the green spray top? You sprayed it on and then immediately rinsed it off.

Hi, Sandro! It would appear that Retyre was designed for tires only. There is no mention on the product that it’s to be used with rims. The directions clearly states use on rubber, and that the product should be agitated. So why did you spray it on your rims? I’m just curious.

May products can be used for many diverse applications, especially an alkaline cleaner like ReTyre which is essentially a water dilatable APC/Degreaser. Part of my testing is exploring the product and gathering info, that’s why 🙂

I got to test that 500ml bottle on about 4-5 sets of tyres and quite a few wheels so it seemed decent in that respect, but testing something new usually involves increased use as I explore it and try different things out which may not necessarily be the most efficient way of using it. It’s all part of the learning curve with something new 🙂

Losing faith in your channel, which I’ve looked up to for a long time and here’s my reasoning. You’ve always come across as neutral to paid or indirect sponsoring on products, You’re last 6 uploads have been of Carpro products. Sad to see.

@CarCraftAutoDetailing 2 года назад
Sorry you’re loosing faith but this isn’t the first time I’ve done a bunch of Carpro product uploads in a row, I did the same thing a couple of years ago and again years before that - have a look for yourself. There’s no payments or indirect sponsorships, I do it because I’ve always done it on this channel, use, enjoy and like reviewing the brand. What should be sad to see is that some people have short memories and like to point fingers rather than ask genuine questions and converse in respectful conversation: you could have just asked me why, rather than attacking my character 🙂
