Nice the amount of solution out there to bring modern tech into any car. I don't get why car manufacturer bother with nav and others anymore when integration feels like a much cheaper route without having to reduce the price of the vehicles.
How's the product, now that you've using it for about 2 months? Do you still feel happy with your purchase? I only ask because I use an Elantra as well and I'm looking to purchase this myself.
@@bensonolumayowa2708 had nothing but a good experience with this so far. I've now changed to a dedicated unit because I was provided one for another RU-vid video. If you're interested in purchasing and based in the UK, feel free to drop me a message as I'll be selling unit shown in this video 👍
Thank you. After a few days of using my carpuride 9-inch device, I realized I have issues hearing voice of the other person in a call. All other audio works perfectly but I cannot hear the voice of the other participant in a call even though they can hear me very well. What could be the problem?
Great review, thanks a lot. ❤ do you know why it wouldn’t let me use steering wheel volume up and down button when connected through aux? I have to always do the volume up or down manually through the original head unit 😢
Yep unfortunately it will not link to your steering wheel controls, to achieve a similar level of function you can view my latest video where I show how to link it with a carpuride steering remote control
I received my unit tonight and was gobsmacked at how easily it hooked up, paired and was ready to go. One question: the suction cup windshield mount has a very sticky adhesive, protected by a thin piece of plastic. Once you peel that protective plastic off and stick this thing to your windshield, I can't believe it will ever come off, with or without flipping the suction lever. Isn't this type of suction cup mount meant to easily stick on and remove?
It does come off pretty easily but is nice and solid when stuck on. To take it off I usually just peal slowly around the edges of the suction mount. I believe they've made it deliberately sticky so it doesn't fall off whilst driving.
@@CRD90 Thanks very much for the quick reply! You've put my mind at rest, I was worried about installing this as a gift for a friend, but now that I know he can relocate it if he wishes, I'm not so worried. Much appreciated!
Thinking of ordering it. Just a few questions before that. 1. I don't see any buttons on it. Are there any mute or volume control buttons? Or can the volume be adjusted with the car stereo knob iteself? What about the steering controls like call answer and volume controls ? Will those work with this unit? 2. When mounted on the dash does the 7 inch or 9 inch unit block any road views? 3. Will the existing reverse camera still display on the car stereo or can this unit mirror that? 4. Any difference between the 7 inch or 9 inch models apart from size? What about the units with the w706 models? Which model is the latest product from them? 5. Is the audio clear even at high volume when FM transmitting? Does the FM transmit thing need to be turned on separately everytime or is it automatic once done? Thanks in advance.
Hi bud, you won't go wrong with it make sure to use our discount code as it works across the whole site. 1) the latest model starting with W706 has buttons on there. Steering wheel controls will not work. 2) I did not find it to restrict view, in fact I mounted it to the right of my steering wheel normally and only in the centre to film the video. 3) existing reverse camera will still display on your car screen, no way to mirror this to the device 4)w706 is the latest 5)I tend to use the aux cable more, but the FM was clear enough
@@CRD90 hey bro. Any idea how to fix the static noise from the fm transmitter? It is very clear initially when connecting but then within a few minutes the static noise keeps rising until it then becomes too much to ignore. Is it a problem with the device or is the frequencies in a major city too much for it to overcome? Thinking of returning it since I feel very let down by it. And every time the car starts, it takes a while for the android auto to connect and the fm transmitter has to be turned on manually everytime which is not what I thought it would be when I ordered it. Is there any fix for that?
@@patrickvennard838 I don't unfortunately, I can reach out to them and see if they have one to loan out for review. I've just finished installing a fitcamx into an Audi A3. Fits really well and looks OEM. Video should be out in a week or two 👍
This might seem a silly question but baring in mind if you're out on the road and the device is linked up to your phone. If you use the WiFi function does your phone still use data on 4/5g
Hi Woody, thanks for watching! If you mean by connecting over WiFi for Android auto / Apple carplay - will your phone lose its data connection then the answer is no. You will still be able to use your phone as normal. Alternatively if you mean once connected over WiFi to android auto or carplay will your phone continue to use data - then yes if you're using apps like Spotify for example, it will use your phone's data to run.
Hi, mic is on the left hand side on the same side as the usb ports. Not had a problem with anyone hearing me whilst driving on a 70mph motorway 👍 It's a great device all round.
Thank you! I'm not sure bud, I don't think it will be that much you'll have to check on their website using the link. Remember to use the discount code to help save some $$$
Thanks for watching Alan, this could be if your phone doesn't support wireless connectivity or if you want to view media saved on your phone /usb drive. Some older androids for example only support wired android auto.
Can you guys tell me if it is useful without a reverse camera system and rear mirror ? I still don´t get it, how useful is it without these 2 features?
It depends if you've got one from factory. If not then I would suggest buying the version with the reverse camera as it works pretty good. I've done a more recent video on my channel with the larger version w103 and that shows the reverse camera demonstration. Also if you are looking to buy it, make sure to use our discount code - we've got an exclusive 30% off for our viewers at the moment 👍
The best way would be buy buying a hardwired 12v kit and hiding it away. Otherwise you can probably wire in a usb cable with the same transformer rating.
When using the mirror option for android via the USB cable, does it charge the phone everytime, if so is there an option to turn charging off? As it may ruin the phones battery in time.
@@CRD90 thanks. I received mine yesterday, for some reason it won’t allow me to play Netflix/Amazon video when screen mirroring on autolink, all i get is a blank screen. RU-vid works fine though. I’m new to android auto, first time in using it. Could i ask do you have to have the apps open on your phone for them to work on the carpuride device
@@DJGillman hi bud, I can't remember using those two apps myself. The black screen you mention could be content copyright protection that Amazon and netflix use to prevent mirroring. It might be worth checking with Carpuride support to see whether those apps support mirroring on their device.
Yep, you can just use the internal speaker on the unit so it speaks the Google maps voice commands. Then use your factory stereo as usual with radio etc 👍
The mirroring function (airplay) doesn’t work with iPhone. I keep getting “can not connect to an external display “ error. Seems no matter what setting I change it doesn’t fix it. Exchanging it out for another in hopes the next one will work.
Hi thanks for watching, Yep this will work with the mx5. The connection will probably be through the FM transmitter if you do not have an aux input on the stereo. You can have Waze running on it, depending on whether you use apple carplay or android auto it could differ. My experience is whilst using android auto and taking a call, the sat nav screens stay in place but I'm using android auto 👍 They do offer a hassle free return from what I've seen on their website and seem to be one of the more responsive companies out there. Finally, if you are going to purchase please use the links I've provided and my discount code as it will help track on their side and allow us to receive future products to demonstrate 👍
@crd Thanks for review, really useful. Been looking at one of these for my van, they are now doing a 9inch version ...any idea if Netflix works, i guess you couldnt you attach an amazon firestick to.the usb port? Thinking a larger screen could double as a little TV for the back of the van/nigh times etc
Glad you found it useful bud, I haven't got one to test unfortunately but I can reach out to the team and ask them. I've also got another unit I usually use to run full android, so I'll test that on here to see if that works in which case you'll get Netflix working. Failing that the airplay function should allow you to use Netflix from your phone to it
Capruride responded back, currently it does not support the firestick or Netflix but they are working on Netflix for a new model. I can still try my Android box on it if you want? But that would be connecting a device to another device so not sure if you'll be interested in doing that?
Will this display reset if you unplug it? I would have to unplug it every time I turn the car off, so I am curious if it resets and erases setup information when unplugged from the cigarette outlet (bluetooth connection, wireless android auto connection, etc). Thanks!
Nope you only have to set it up once :) it then auto connects whenever you turn the car back on. If you're going to purchase, please use our discount code as it helps track with the vendor and will help us receive more products in the future to review.
If you're looking to buy one, feel free to message me I'm going to be selling our one very soon 👍 Instagram @auzzam_crd or email auzzam_crd@hotmail.com
I bought the 7inch first it didn't work. So I decided to buy the 9inch. I love it . The only thing i can't get is android mirroring. I'm thinking maybe it just doesn't work with Samsung galaxy z fold 2. But everything else works great so I'm happy .
Have you tried switching the android from android auto to mirroring (or something similar) in the carpuride settings? Also have you got the latest mirror app from the app store?
@@natalieperitore9304 just the auto link app from the play store. I noticed there is specific one for Samsung when searching mirror link so wonder if this would help you.
@@CRD90 hi yeah I think it just doesn't work with my Samsung galaxy. It's auto link pro? Unless u know of another one. Because this kind of aggravating I can't mirror:(
This works with any car, it is completely stand alone. You can connect to you car stereo through aux, FM transmitter or Bluetooth (the latest version w103)
I got the 9”inch version and it looks great. I was able to set up CarPlay wirelessly and everything was fine. Once i went to try out the Mirror feature it told me to disconnect from CarPlay so i couldn’t find a way to do so but out of nowhere it worked. Now i was able to screen mirror perfectly fine but then when i wanted CarPlay it wouldn’t work anymore. Does anyone know how to fix this?
@@sjdjduehdn the transmitter is actually within the carpuride. As long as your car has an FM radio you will be able to tune it to the correct frequency and listen to the audio through your car speakers.
Disconnect all cables, click android auto on the carpuride and follow the steps displayed to connect usually via Bluetooth. Does your phone support wireless android auto?
I'll try it with my android but I think it just doesnt work with Samsung phones. I bought the 9inch screen , at first I bought the 7inch but it wasn't working so I bought the 9inch what a difference in screen size I can see lol!! I'll try it again if it doesn't work it just doesn't work with my galaxy, as long as I have a touch screen and GPS and Google assistance and my text Hands free I'm happy.
@Madi Rose yes it does have only when music is quiet and sometimes it's noticeable Try using through aux with aux cable that is what I will try next so I can use steering wheel control as you can't skip using fm transmitter as it skips radio not your music so you have to skip using the screen I was told their working on steering wheel compatibility
the suction arm keeps falling off of the dash , and when fitted to the glass the amount of Vibrating is shocking ,all in all its a great unit But the mount options and rubbish
First of all Sorry to all the viewers it's just a question I just don't get it, why we need this display. We have to mirror link everything from our phone in order this Display to work, why not just buy a tab or maybe if have bigger budget can go to iPad. With tab or ipad you can have everything without mirroring. We can just simply bluetooth the sound to the car audio when we watch netflix, also we are not going to get disturbed when there's a call while watching or listening spotify. Enlighten me...Thank you.
Thanks for pointing that out. We can blame RU-vid's auto generation of chapters there! (I've now turned that off) The actual android auto footage is earlier in the video. 👍
