Yes, you do. And I have mine along with all her other fans who think she is beautiful at 73 and she still makes us happy singing , esp. The songs we were singing when we were in our younger years. They impacted our lives and still do.

Sheryl's voice sounds coarse compared to Linda's - to me. While the notes in the harmonies are close if nit the same, the collection of voices sound more like a competition among a froup of divas to me than blended harmonies. I sang the 3rd harmony with a married couple where the girl sounded like Linda and I still believe we BLENDED better. We listened to each other as we sang. We didn't compete with each other.

They chose a key that worked best for Carrie's voice because she was leading it. Also, you do realize that some of these women are much older than her, right? So funny when people who don't know much about singing wanna make silly comments.

I guess I need to clarify for the you missed a spot guys. Yes I am aware that she did not have the original version. What struck me when I heard this version by these singers, all accomplished, all outstanding vocalists, is that she was just on another level. So I guess my original comment should have been that every time I hear other female singers perform a song that Linda also performed that it just reaffirms for me that she was absolutely the best.

@@jimincairns Phil Everley actually wrote this song. RIP Both Phil & Don Everley. Linda Ronstadt has her own unique sound, she knew what songs to cover and make them her own.

This is edited from the original broadcast. Emmylou was somewhat flat on her line, so they edited in Carrie singing the same line later in the song.

Yes, they edited out Emmy Lou's part in this song other than all together - there is a video of the whole tribute to Linda so you can see the original songs as performed

Well, Carrie is the only singer out there with the voice and range who could do justice to ALL of Linda’s songs as opposed to the other women with the possible exception of Sheryl Crow for some of her numbers.

@@jreifsnyder2225 I think the only time Carrie Underwood does covers is in her concerts where she used to get the audience to vote on which song she will cover that night. Carrie did an excellent cover of the classic Guns N Roses song; "Paradise City" at the 2013 CMT music fest which you can find on RU-vid, Carrie is a big Guns N Roses fans and has done songs by them like "Sweet Child of Mine" in concert as well.

I believe Emmylou & Linda were good friends way back when. She should've been given a larger part, unless she didn't want it (would be hard to believe).

When you watch the Linda documentary at the end they play this and I heard Emmylou had a line but have not seen it anywhere else ? It was deff her … very strange - But still a great performance by all 😃

It took five women to do what one could do. That’s the power of Linda’s voice. Nice job to show she did rock as well as everything else! Only Linda could sing every genre of music.

Even old curmudgeon Bill Murray was moved by the performance (look for him dancing at the :49 mark). So please take your dismisal of these girls and shove it. They rocked!!! And the fact that they did so together isn't saying that "it took 5 to do the ability of one" --- it's saying that they were honoring Linda from across all the era's of rock .... from the 70's til today. As any singer knows, just because you can, does not mean you do. Carrie Underwood is the youngest in the group and clearly has the vocal prowess to do the song major justice, but the fact that she is on stage with some older gals whose vocals are not what they used to be, she did not put everything she could into that song, Sometimes, respecting your elders and not showing them up, is more important than being the brightest of the shining stars.

Wellllll.....they did a great job here, and the whole band. We'll see where you and I are at in our 60s and 70s. They may not have been perfect, but they did a great job and they look like they were having fun....that's what it's all about.

Stevie writes GREAT songs, sings some of them YET she lacks the vocal range of many of her contemporaries. She’s tell you the same. She wouldn’t dare sing Ann or Nancy Wilson’s songs nor Linda and rightfully so. She can’t hit those notes.
