Cartwheel Sideflip Tutorial

Thank you for the tutorial! I had to get used to doing the chartwheel side running soo It was harder to get used to just pushing up from a normal chartwheel~ But, thanks to this I got it down in one try.

woah you actually replied :O thanks for the wise words epic, i'll try my best to do what you do in my own way. i broke my knee this year and was out of action for about 6months and in that time i watched your vids and got into tricking. hopefully one day ill inspire those people that think they cant do something, when all they really need is confidence and determinitaion :)

@kiernanlayneee It's more like a side ways front tuck because when doing it by itself it requires a punch set up just as the front tuck does.

Dude, this is an awesome tutorial.. I can do a loser, gainer, side, front, but for the life of me, I just can't get myself to jump well after the cartwheel. Friggin handicap... Thanks for your help! Gonna try this tomorrow at practice.

I had same problem. You have two choises: Learn sideflip on the other side. A the other is to learn cartweel on the other side :-D Personaly, I decided to practice my cartweel on right side. Now I can do it :-) Good luck

@TheVladable I had the same problem, started workin on it yesterday... What I tried was doing a sideflip while your facing a wall. When you keep facing it you don't make the small rotation you make with a double leg... Good luck

I have that exact same problem haha :) If you don't want to learn your cart the other way then you'll have to add some kind of transition move to get to your comfortable sideflip position.

You probably know this by now but theres a few carthweel variations, martial arts cartwheels and gymnast cartwheels, its very hard to sidefllip out of a gymnast cart so he does a martial arts one. Clean cartwheels are pretty easy to get so Im sure he has them just fine haha.

Freerunners don't follow gymnastic form

i use my arms and legs to make a sort of spiral effect and it will cause your rotation to be much faster

great tutorial..i just wanted to add on to what u were saying about the sideflip and making it look clean. Its kinda like a walkout when u land it which makes it look clean. I always like to do it when i do backhand springs and combo it with a flash kick. :)

I have the same prob as well just have to learn on of them on both sides i suggest the cart wheel is easier

@tomderoon If you do a cartwheel then side flip toward it and somehow manage to keep doing it, that would be sick!

when i do it my sideflip looks like a tucked aerial and that makes it low, but my regular running sideflip is ok. how do i change it?

@MrRainManthemaster its easier with cartwheel, you get more momentum and thats the way i learned it

Wow, i was trying to get this from a Gimastic Cart, so gonna try with this kind of cart to see if it helps! :).

Although an actual cartwheel is not a side by side motion. it goes straight down, like you wold do when you wanted to do a handstand. only in at the end of that first step when yor hands get close to the ground, you have to turn your upper body. but that might be important only for the gymnast fanatics ;) And honestly, though i am one: this way of doing the cartwheel does work better for combos :P I admit it!

Epic, you must get a lot of comments on your newer tutorials but I need help with injuries for sideflips. I know in front flips and back flips you can land on your toes easily and avoid messing up your ankles but side to side it seems like for me, the momentum of a sideflip forces me to land hard on my left ankle. Any tips to correct this?

Ive tried this a few times at our gym a few times after seeing it in your videos but I failed lol. I know what I did wrong now after watching this. What exactly do you mean by a "free running sideflip?" There's different kinds?

Hey Epic, could you please do a tutorial of a Barrel Vault, I'm having some trouble with it, I get the main point of it...but I feel like I might be missing a few fundamentals to it, because It's hard to complete the full turn

does it matter if you cant do a standing sideflip?, but can do a running one?

I got the steps for a sideflip before ndoing this, then I did it. But I can't do a regular sideflip without the pre cartwheel, is that odd.

@MrRainManthemaster i think sideflip only would be easyer to start with, i can do a variety of sideflips on ground and i learned em like, from concrete to jump into sand like at a beach, with a run up standing still is harder imo.. carthweel before sideflip makes it harder to me , i cant do it yet i dont know what im doing wrong but ill let you know when i can do it, u let me know if u learn it before me and help me out XD peace

is it possible to do combos whit one handed cartwheel? becouse i have a sickness in my arms seens birth and my right arm cant reach as long as my left arm... so i can only do a one handed cartwheel... pls i need tips :(

Hey epic i can do one really well i land it at perfect hight etc. so thanks for the turial, but i make a little rotation in my sideflip wich makes me land it like a backflip position. I really wanted to do cartwheel side 2ce in a row but i can't cause of that problem i hope you know that i mean and do wrong.
