PROMPT USED: A grayscale image of a pelican framed with the highest possible contrast, representing a relief model for CNC routing. The image must feature extremely balanced lighting to make details visible across the model, with very clear, sharp contours and textures. The design should have strong shadows and intense highlights to accentuate different levels and surfaces, ensuring no detail is obscured.

$50 a month is absolutely insane. I’d pay $50 to buy it permanently but to only use it for a month? Outrageous.

Maker + with the 3d tools is expensive monthly but the perpetual buy once license is around 1200$ and is 1k cheaper than Vectric Aspire and has almost all the same tools. The basic maker is only 15$ a month.

I've been trying to do this for a week! Great video. I didn't realize my prompt would have to be so labored but those results are far better than what I was getting.

Thank you for the positive feedback. I personally think the more detailed your prompts are the better the results I get but it takes some trial and error.

This is a great jump into the world of AI. I have been trying to create images to carve and they were all just that, images. Cool images but nothing like the end result you have in your video. Thanks for the help!!

Thanks for the feed back Scott. I plan on releasing another video soon that revises this using the marigold depth map tool that improves the results. I think this stuff is only going to get better and better as time goes on.

Great timing, Jason. One of the guys at the day job (software) had some really cool AI-generated images he was working on and I couldn't help but wonder about applying it to CNC. I just tested this with a Vectric VCarve Photo version of a Hawk and it looks great in the preview. I'll have to give it a try on the CNC soon. Thank you.

Thanks I appreciate the feedback on this one. Some of these that I made look good and some do not come out that well. I think it really depends on the contrast of the photo and how the software translates that to the form. I hope to do more videos like this.

Hell I'm trying to find 1" wood still without gluing boards together haha. Nice video!

Thank you. Finding a hardwood seller or use 2x12's in pine from like Lowes usually around 1.5" thick and 11.5 wide is what I use.

I think Caveco is crazy to offer that price for the software

Compared to the other options it's the best bang for buck on the market right now.

Whats the best wood for that type of carving?
@Timberfalls
@Timberfalls 6 месяцев назад
I really like maple and cherry for carvings. These two wood types seem to hold the details the best.

which version of carveco are you using. can i use basic carveco

Yes you can use maker and is what I was using in this video.

would you reccomend carvco maker or carvco plus i am fairly expereiced with vetric pro. Seems like carvco is more 3d user friendly
@Timberfalls
@Timberfalls 7 месяцев назад
@@arthurwarner196 I also started with vectric and own aspire but use maker+ as the 3d tools are more refined and easier to work with. Over the last year or so I have found carveco to be further ahead on the software development side of things and improving the tools they have. Maker+ is by far the best bang for buck software on the market.

Weird glitch that I am wondering if you have come across or have any thoughts on how to remedy. I was fooling around with making a sign with a name, the AI spells the name differently in almost every image. I tried putting the name in quotes, in all caps and even saying "a name spelled x" and it still doesn't follow through with it correctly.
@Timberfalls
@Timberfalls 6 месяцев назад
At its current state the AI is not very good with names unless they are super common. They train these AI models with only a limited amount of data and names and wording seems like it struggles. I would say just keep trying the prompt and you may get lucky with one getting it right.

Yes it can there is a long list of file types in both 2d and 3d including SVG,DFX, STL, OBJ and many others. At the bottom of this link is all the file types it can do. Hope this helps. carveco.com/carveco-software-range/product-comparison/
