Hi. This is a compilation of last few weeks of using the ‪@surfyourskate‬ C-7 trucks and CX complete board.
I started the Surfskate activity as a comment in one of the previous videos-so thank you for that. It’s been so fun and exciting.
Best of all - it really helps awareness for front foot pressure training needed for downhill skateboard from truck control. And a collateral benefit is that the trucks are so loose which has helped me get rid of my past fear of loose trucks by excessive tightening and the bushings.
Surfskate is a simple and easy to learn.
Here is the video that really jumped started the excitement: • Improve Your Surfing -...
Epic fail short:
• Why you wear safety ge...
See you next video.

Looks like ya'll had a blast. Surfskates are some of the best flatground fun and work out imho. Especially carving around obstacles. Any skating is good skating. I put a pair of CX on a big dogtown Webb deck with 64mm dragon formulas, its a blast. keep it up🤙🤙

Yes, blast and so much fun. As we get more skill, will be practicing carving around obstacles. Will be testing the C-7 and CX at skate park and pump track-if timing is right. I have 64mm dragons, too and put on new street deck with street trucks yesterday. 🙏 for encouragement and comment.

I have a waterborne surfskate before, it helps with learning to slide and carving so take your time and use the cx trucks for practice slides for now like the one on your previous video.

That’s cool and thank you-definitely enjoying fun of learning and transfer of skills to downhill.

As a beginner myself, what made all the difference for me was realizing all the propulsion comes from your back foot. Your front foot doesn't need to be doing all that much other than providing balance. I hope this helps! I was going to say I think that may have caused your fall but I see you hit a rock lol, keep shredding!

Awesome and thanks. Yes-definitely understand the body mechanics (now) of back foot propulsion and front balance. Still need to practice more, but enjoying the non destructive fun…other than the occasional rock. 😆

@@cantskate5535 Yes lol! I'm always scanning. I see you go back and forth between downhill and maybe I'm wrong, but I've rode similar boards and with those it definitely seems best to keep balance on front foot. But surf skate, that back foot is like a gas pedal xD I am with you whole heartedly on the idea that getting used to looser, carvier setups just makes you all around better. Not so scared to tuck down, and flow. Many longboarders I see just stand up like a pole on their drop through and I feel it limits their overall capability. That was me for years :p

@ZackRamsey14 thanks and just enjoying learning so many small facets of what I think are transferable balance skills? Changing it up keeps the focus of each session, each board and continuous fun. 🤩 Always enjoy hype.

What skating discipline are you wanting to learn? Because surfskate won't be much help for learning downhill freeride. My advice is Ditch the surfskate ( unless U like it the most ) and learn on a cruiser board how to push and skate a flat street/path properly. Jumping from this to that and back again isn't helpful.

Thanks for the commenting. My focus is on downhill, but because of so many varying disciplines of skating-and it’s really my first exposure to them-so using time to understand portions of them. Plus, it appears my buddy likes the Surfskate more so we’ll be sprinkling that in-for me on occasion. I have been doing more cruising, pushing, balance, etc. but not posting. Going to try a hopefully non-busy skatepark and pump track. I do like the Surfskate because trucks are so loose and when I come back to downhill, the trucks feel just right.
