Carving Labrador Max - Simple Whittling Project 

Yahoo! Took me all day but I made a tiny Max today!!! Thank you so much for your tutorial x

Absolutely the best instructor on RU-vid! You give answers to questions nobody thinks to ask (as a beginner) until they are in the process of carving, or find themselves wondering what they did wrong. I wish I knew how to make more stand up ears on this dog (to match my real dog) but this is exactly what I needed to get the basic doggishness in a carving I am going to do. Thanks so much! 💕

Great the way you block out everything on the carving first then do the details. Makes carving look much simpler. Have to keep that in mind on my next project.

Thanks for this video ! I've only been whittling for a month and I was able to do a mini max in an evening by following your steps :D I just had a small question about the oiling process. Do you first paint and then oil or the other way round ? Thanks again.

Hi. I am a lab lover! Lost one of mine this year- very hard- she was part of the family! I tried my first carving last year and it came out ok- i really liked it because i knew what it took to do. I also tried a german shepherd- i didnt carve that all with my knife though. I used bass wood but it was harder on 2 sides and of coarse thats were most of the detail ended up being. What do i look for when getting bass wood or any suggestions before i buy more wood and accidentally cut off too much? Im sure im not the only one. Thank you for any help and or advice! Really enjoyed your video’s! Plan on watching more. Have a good day
