EmilyGreene1984 It's similar to Frank Oz, Oz has a very light British accent that's barely audible. Elwes is the "Alan Young" of this generation. Like Elwes, Young covered up his UK accent for decades, but by the 1980s, he decided to authentically use it once he was cast as the voice of Scrooge McDuck.

I have tried to hear it in Saw, but I just can't, he did such a good job masking his accent in that movie. The fear and desperation he showed in Saw was also probably the most genuine I've seen in any psychological horror film
He has primarily lived in the states for nearly 40 years now and his wife of 25 years is also American. He can easily re-affect his original accent if he wants to but just speaking casually his accent is probably 60% American 40% English.
