Cary was exceptionally attractive. He struck a picture of an aloof, debonair and suave guy, but I always felt that he had dark undercurrents. When I saw the movie suspicion, I thought that the storyline minus its ending depicted more of the real Cary Grant in my estimation. He seemed in personality like a perfectionist with indifference to thr feelings of others. He also appeared as very intellectually curious - a plus.
Title is too harsh. Most married people, given your description would call that : Tuesday. With his looks and charm, he could gripe about how I parked any time. Counter with…you’re right, hired a driver, he starts Monday.

I’ve heard that many times. Yeah, he’s insecure and controlling. He had a bad childhood too. Dyan says that he’s controlling for telling her what he didn’t like what she wore. He complained about baby food cost. Dylan says… She’s a baby! Cary always watch every dime since 1920’s. If anyone who’s have mental issues. I’ll leave.
She married him for the money and fame, period. He was old enough to be her father. She would have been obscure if she did not marry him. She had problems with her marriage, the age difference, motherhood , insecurities , he was bi-sexual. What do you expect? She has milked “being married to Cary Grant for 3 years “ for the past 50 years ! Now that she has run out of money, she’s bagging on him. Oh please, give me a break. I have always admired both of them, even some of the more obscure movies, like Cary in Walk, Don't Run and Dyan in The Last of Sheila. Too much emphasis is placed on age, then and now. When 2 people fall in love, it's really pretty much irrelevant and should not be judged by people, especially those who do not have an intimate knowledge of the situation. While I generally enjoy the FactsVerse videos, I'm often inclined to pass them by because of the sensationalism, i.e., "The ugly truth about..." Just a video about Cary Grant or any other celebrities would be enough to attract my attention.
Having been a Cary Grant fan I would love to see it. The Bachoelor and the Bobby Soxer, Bringing up Baby, Gunda Din, North by Northwest. A few of my favorites. I do not think there was a Film I didn't like. I would not have figured hime to be insecure. That is a surprise. If I looked like him and had his talent why be that way.
Because he was more than 30 years older than his beautiful wife! He may have even begun to suffer physically from the excesses of the Hollywood lifestyle!
His insecurities had nothing to do with his with (who married her because she was pregnant), it stemmed from a traumatic childhood and learning about the truth of what happened to his mother at the age of 31.

Read in her book he gave away her sweet little dog that she loved and that made me dislike him. She should have fought to get that dog back. Hollywood people are the lowest form of humanity. NO won't watch.
Grants use of LSD, and his insisting that she join him was really ugly!. Frequent LSD use often results in one being committed to an asylum; or a total change in the user's personality. As it was Grant was a grandiose narcissist (as are many other actors/actresses) Eventually she had to leave him because neither one of them was taking care of their daughter (who was being left at Dyan's parents' house for most of the time.) Dyan had to leave him!

The situation was so bad that her parents (who were taking care of the Grant's daughter, Jennifer) were threatening to file for custody. That is why she had to leave Grant. Anyone my age has known or known of people who "went off the deep end" because of LSD. Use of it was common during the time that Cary Grant was indulging in it.
