We have same bulldozer with lgp. Love the bulldozer. We put 3500 hours on it . And we had to replace wiring harness also. That has been the only issue. Definitely buy another one
Excellent review! Sad that with all the advancements that have been made in heavy equipment, hose routing and wiring/electronics too often lag behind😬 Seems to be a calculated risk a lot of manufacturers take. Hope to see a review on your Cat in the future!
Thank you for showing that important Hydraulic Hose routing. I cut my teeth on a Case Backhoe At a very young age sitting on my dad's lap. Operating front Loader bucket. Ran every model up till the 580-K. I will just say running the 450-C Dozers. Personally Love the TWO lever power turn control between your legs. But will say the (T) handle blade control that JD had was the most advanced blade control of the 70s. The (500 series JD Grader) with that ( T) handle for the mold board was so advanced. I will say on a mainline Sewer job I worked on. We had three track Loaders for running ( PEA gravel) and backfill. The 850- C case was by far the FASTEST. We had a Cat 931 & an International 125 Front Loader. The Case was just like having a wheel Loader bring gravel and backfill. We were in right- of- ways, where no roads were built yet, so the company used Track Loaders on this sewer job. I got the opportunity to Run all three Front loaders. The Case 850-C was the fastest. But the International 125 was just built better for a Loader, it just did not have the speed of the case. With that power turn of shuttle.
@@traviskidwell3766 I loved the beefy build international did back then. They had great lock up systems for the time. Especially the battery turn OFF switch with key holes plus an outer cover box that could be Locked.
Excellent video and review. So hard to get good reviews of equipment like this so this is greatly appreciated. Please make more! I love my D4 and I think that if you buy or lease new, or rotate out machines, the Case is a decent choice. If you are buying a used machine, however, I think the Cat dozers are worth the extra $$$ as they seem to be more durable. Wouldn’t it be great if all equipment design engineers had to work these machines for a couple of years before they were allowed to design anything?
I thoroughly enjoy older case dozers such as the 550G lt. I got the chance to do some clearing with it and it was a pleasure to operate even though it wasn’t hydrostatic. What threw me off being mainly CATerpillar as my brand of choice, I found the ACCellorator opposed to being a DECElerator. I know they offered a kit to switch it and it said in the promotional video that it should take you less than 1 hour to install. Since it’s from 30 years ago they assumed every operator knew how to turn wrenches. I know for a fact today I have met an alarming amount that don’t know much about machines other than fluid checks and grease points. Haven’t had the opportunity to try any hydrostatic case dozers yet and am highly interested in checking out the Minotaur dozer/ctl
@@traviskidwell3766 my kubota and case ih dealer sold quite of few wich between case and kubota products and komatsus are my 3 faviorate products plus easy to maintain wich cats and deere are a pain to work on and case parts are cheaper
I ran both the new cat and new case and would take the Cat as it seems to be better engineered. Cat also has segmented sprocket which is nice for replacement.
I’m guessing you don’t go back to case after the caterpillar! I’m bout to spend a week on a case 750 and hadn’t been in one so I wanted to see what they were like! Nice video!
@@digginandbuildinwv7012 I will say I prefer the cat skid over the case. But I hear the bigger case skids are much better. I’m running a 310b right now and it’s very jerky and not as comfortable as the cat. I have a cat 289d3 so i maybe a little biased. I noticed with the big hoes they are very comparable between the two brands. Like 160 vs the 315 cat. I’d like to see your review on the cat dozer. Keep up the good work!
@@digginandbuildinwv7012well I ran the 750m the last 2 days. It’s not bad. I don’t have just a whole lot of time in dozers so I can’t give any great comparison. But I can tell ya what I don’t like. I don’t like the visibility. I ran it with the doors open. And like you said when you turn the blade you can’t see the corners. Would like if the blade was taller. Not really sure why they have such a short blade on me.
I had a komatsu d39e before the case, it was a very good machine, I really wanted a komatsu next but they didn't offer non GPS grade control like the cat slope assist, komatsu also charged a premium for basic upgrades like screens and sweeps which made it more expensive than the cat without grade control.
Just one who hates to see the term bulldozer used. glade to hear Him call it correctly There is no Bull in Dozer great machines and people who operate them. I favor of CAT and John Deer Equipment myself. But sure, cost is a major reason in his interest here.
they make great snowplows too we have a cat d4 wich we just hate it so much and kinda like to get rid of it and looking to replace it with case or komatsu
case had similiar issues on their skid steers. And weak finals. from what they used to be i think case has been a massive disappointment the past 15 years
I can honestly say I never had a power train problem with either of the cases, but I can't speak for anyone else. I did prefer the Cummins in earlier model case equipment
