The sod buster jr (do we need a hip acronym yet, SBJ, i called it first) went from an economy tool marketed for farmers, took some time off went to the gym, spa, got a little makeover and bam its a chic, hip, loved by new and old and reasonably affordable sweetheart of todays consumers, they hit one out of the park.......still love the old yellows and blacks, thanks for the peek, its a winner
Those covers look awesome!! Thanks for showing this one off! Today I'm carrying a Buck 347 Alaskan Guide Vantage with S30V and a Case medium stockman with yellow delrin. Cheers, E!
Wahoooo 🎉🎉🎉 yes we did get our early May preorder !!!! Yessss love mine it is beautiful looking 👀 deep rich color and when the patina kicks in it’s gonna be a keeper for sure !!!! Thanks Erica great video and content as always 👏👍🏆
Try looking at it with a fluorescent light. I have one in a lamp and I've noticed different shades of green in my Gec Urban Jack that I normally didn't without the light
Love the color and the XX Shield It’s a winner imo and I want one even more now that I have seen one Thanks Carried my David Yellowhorse Russlock to Church this morning in my GA Adventurer Sodbuster Jr Sheath Yes it fits! Love you ❤
@@ericasedc You should see the Yellowhorse BtW We’re waiting on biopsies from my endoscopy of my esophagus after the treatment for esophageal cancer So far everything looks really good and we’re hoping to avoid major surgery and instead have alternative treatment Love you forever
You have a beauty there. I love the SBJ blade style, I've done some skinning with similar style blades. I will be ordering one of these soon. The one thing about Case that concerns me is blade alignment. I hope going forward they've sorted this out. I have some older Case knives that are perfect, then sometime in the early 2000s that wasn't always true. Case did some modernizing of equipment, so maybe that was the reason. I like to call the Junior the Son of a Buster. Have a peaceful Sunday!
Nice look'n slip and new Case. Only slip I have was with a CRK, but will not do Instagram. Surprise us with this months test knives. Have a good time over the long weekend. Hope it includes overtime.
Beautiful knife! As for what I’m carrying today: a Manix 2 in CruWear (the KnifeCenter exclusive w/smooth G10), a Petrified Fish Beluga fixed blade in blue micarta, and a Rough Ryder Fade Blue Jeans Elephant Toe in my back pocket. I think I’m prepared 😂
The mini Copperlocks are still available in the same configuration. I’ve bought three mini copper locks recently and fit and finish has been great except for the points. Same with a couple Sodbuster jr’s. About 10 minutes with a diamond sharpener and they are good to go.
I also pre ordered a Trapper in the same bone and (CS) steel. That one I ordered from Shepard Hills. We’ll see when that one comes in. But the Soddys are my favorite 🤩
Hey Erica, I'm enjoying my first Sod Buster Jr. and I definitely prefer the slimmer bone handled style to the wider synthetic versions. I think the next one might be the Barnboard Purple from SMKW. Peace, DD
Received the Case mahogany carbon steel a few days ago, what a beaut! But as with other Case stuff, blade was not centered and rubbed liner, argh#@&. My issue with case is the jigged bone ones are the worst with rubbin' ,non centered blades. Had to send back two amber bone ones, for that plus one had blade wobble. thank you to SMKW for a great return policy. My delrin handled ones have been perfect, weird. Case makes some of the most beautiful knives, wish their construction was better!
@@ericasedc Absolutely perfect! And you’re right… tried to order another one, and they’re back on pre-order status. Doesn’t seem like they’re producing them in large batches. Love mine!! Be on the lookout for pics soon. 😉
That Mahogany Peach Seed Bone is gorgeous! Colors already?! I'm convinced that you sprinkle super secret magic patina dust on your blades before bed every night✨🌟💫 Every terribly QC'd Case knife should just be referred to as a "Nigella Lawson" from here on out 😂 The blade centering on the ASMR Queen's red Sodbuster Jr was the worst that I've ever seen on any knife, not just a Case. Even at that price point, it's pretty inexcusable. It's like, we KNOW that America can do better, so why doesn't Case? It's baffling
Would love a bugout but yea at this point I’m not willing to through that much $$ at one. Keeping my eyes open for any sales that might come up here in Canada.
I received my own today and I was so extremely disappointed when I saw everything that could've gone wrong probably did. You spoke of bad QC on Case's part on some of their knives and I'm not sure this may be their fault or perhaps a returned item from the retailer, but the issues were astounding. Rubbing, off-center blade, micro scratches near the edge of the blade, glue leaked on the metal "XX" plate and most surprisingly, a pile up of dirt or rust on the inside. These are very difficult to get in Canada and I could only find one website to order it from and mine happened to be their last. I'm quite devastated as I wanted to carry this daily and get a natural patina going on it. Oh well.
It seems to me the plain Delrin Soddys get less QC attention than the jigged bone ones. It could be because the Delrin ones are just straight up beaters. Where as the bone ones will be used most people won’t beat them up.
Yo Erica,ya beaty how bout a shout out to my itty bitty channel, wouldn't i love to hangout with you and give you shit about how i have a bigger selection of knives, your way better looking tho haha, you go girl!
