Mike...Casey came to my hometown once, but I didn't hear about it until after. One of the biggest regrets of my 65 year old life that I didn't get a chance to meet him.The station I listened to was one of the 1st to air the show.Later,I got to fulfill my life long dream & become a radio DJ.My 1st job was to work the board on AT 40.Loved it,& I got payed too.Still own many copies of my favorites on LP & CD.Thanks to him,I know & still remember a LOT of music trivia. From Mike,a 50 year fan!
Nice tribute. I lost my Dad just a few months before Casey passed away but thankfully we can still enjoy the old American Top 40 shows and I know listening to them is like a little bit of sunshine on a cloudy day. May they both Rest In Peace.
sorry to hear about your dad. thank you for reaching out. I guess im lucky that i can just see a clip of him on youtube or hear him on the countdown for a bit of nostalgia. take care Joe!
Hi, Mike, Just saw this touching video to your dad...I still listen to his old broadcasts of American Top 40. His voice was a part of my childhood...I watched Scooby Doo as a child and I listened to him on the radio every Sunday when I was a teenager. Thank you, Casey, for the memories, and keep reaching for the stars. And Mike, my deepest condolences to you and your family.
Thank you for sharing this video with us... but more importantly, thank you for sharing your dad with us and the rest of the world. He was an inspiration to me.
I still remember how eager I was to listen to his voice & always made sure the Radio will be on when the specific time came along. The style he used to talk is very unique & mesmerizing.
Touching tribute. I was always a big Casey Kasem fan - having caught the tail end of American Top 40 and growing up on Scooby-Doo and Superfriends reruns. Been listening to him again recently - my local radio station is replaying some classic AT40 this July 4th weekend in honor of the 50th anniversary of the show's inception. He brightened everything he was a part of with his unique and energetic joy. Glad to see his legacy continue! :)
Wow ! Double Wow !! Triple Wow !!! That is one wonderfully informative, entertaining & heartwarming tribute to your late great beloved dad, Mike ! Kudos, sir ! Well done ! Two thumbs up ! THANK YOU so much for sharing with us ! Your late dad was one truly unique talent & one classy gentleman ! May he rest in eternal bliss ! CHEERS !! :-)
A nice tribute to a true radio legend. Casey's AT40 was played on the original Radio Nova in Dublin in the mid 80's. It was our first taste of professional american radio and he made an impact that still lasts to this day. Listening to Casey 'counting them down' every Sunday, was an essential joy for the youth of Dublin. His combination of a friendly voice and ultimate professional presentation style, was unique, and it earned him a loyal following in a country many miles away from his U.S. target audience. Many of our current radio professionals would credit Casey with being their early inspiration. Casey is still very fondly remembered in Ireland. Thank you for the many memories.

I am from Colombia but I still remember listening to the radio every Saturday the brocasting cost to cost the American top 40, translated into Spanish by El negro bar Liza ! Excelent! Nowadays thank god we are able to go back in time and enjoy his amazing voice in some channels in RU-vid!
Mike, your dad meant a lot to people all over the world, by helping us appreciate music, and life. Believe me, even today, there are still enough of us who won't let your dad's legacy die in vain. We loved Casey, as much as we now love and respect you, Kerri, and Julie. Take care, guy, and I hope ONE of these days I get to meet you all in person, to say what a difference you all made in MY life.
Hi Mike. Thank you and your family for sharing Casey with us. Hearing him as Shaggy in Scooby-Doo, and AT 40 always brought a smile to my face. May he continue to rest in eternal peace. God bless you and your family.

Thank you for sharing this! You look a lot like your father. You kinda sound like him too. Your father would be so proud of you for going into radio. Also your father was a cute baby! R.I.P Casey Kasem. You are missed.
I was on his Christmas show back in 66' while in high school. I remember it was filmed in Hollywood and he was such a wonderful and kind man ! RIP Mr. Kasem !
I love it. I miss being able to talk with him in person and on the phone. He was one in a million. I especially love him for his involvement in the Peace March and wanting to help make the world a better place. There is only one Casey Kasem. RIP Thankfully i have several hours of him still on Cassette or CD. Pray that he is in peace now. PEACE
Your Father made me into a Pop Music Expert. : - D. He did so much for Folks most notably making Saturday Cartoons so much fun with the Voices of Shaggy & Robin.
Thank you for this wonderful tribute video! I love listening to your father on my local Boston radio station, which plays classic American Top 40 on Sunday mornings. These countdowns bring back great memories!
Still miss him very much. So glad to find out that the fighting is over and he was finally buried. Hope you are hanging in there. Lost my dad in April 2013 so I understand..
@@mikekasem just so happens that I am listening to your dad count down the Top 100 from 1981. Still have over 300 cassettes.. I hope you are comforted knowing that so many cared about your dad an his family. This will be the 6th holiday with out my dad so I understand what one goes through.. Hope I am not over stepping the line but I really pray that the feuding is over.. Knowing the media, I have learned to not blindly believe everything that I read. Take care
Mike- I just wanted to say that I have thought of your family so much- I have a stepmother just like yours and she won't "allow" my father to see me or talk to me. I haven't seen him in 26 years and it is heartbreaking. I admire you and your siblings so much for how much you loved your father and telling your side of the story. It is hard to understand how some people can be so evil (like your stepmother and mine) but good prevails in the end. :) Your dad was great :) Good luck to your whole family-
thank you very much. im so sorry about your situation. My sister kerri is going state to state changing the law. hopefully it will help you when the time comes. I know what your feeling ... the injustice is overwhelming.
Dearest Mike, I just want to say that I am sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed seeing your father on TV and doing voiceovers! He was the best Shaggy ever BTW. Thank you for sharing this tribute. I hope you and Kerri are doing well. (hugs)
Mike it has been over 7 years since my Dad passed away. I know that to you, he was a dad first. Hope you are handling it better. The pain never totally leaves. But time does help. I love an miss him as well 💔
thanks randy! your right, still think about him everyday as i'm sure you do with your dad too. my memories are not of all this nonsense but of the amazing dad he was.
I was randomly thinking about Casey when I came across this video and let me say your Dad seemed like a terrific human being. I knew him best the way many children did. I grew up a huge Scooby Doo fan and Shaggy was my favorite. When I realized I shared a birthday with that very childhood hero I was thrilled. That day is actually coming up pretty soon and I will definitely be thinking about him.
It's deeply saddens me to know that he's no longer with us I still think about him every time may he rest in pice He was a talented disc jockey who was marvelously talented and the voice of the greatest cartoon character ever and was the original voice of shaggy up untill he retired from the role his last time playing shaggy was in 2009
I just watched 48hours + wow!! That lady is crazy!! That FAINT I just witnessed is bonkers... if any1 was unsure about her, that 'faint' will give u a look in2 her delusional mind... Poor man... Thank u Mr Kasem 4 being the voice of generations in being Shaggy.. Sorry 2 u + ur kids this BS had 2 happen. 💜💜💜
Kemal A. Kassem was named by his father after Mustafa Kemal Atatürk of Turkey. He was not Casey Casem, he was Kemal Kasim ,a Lebanese Arab and I met him over 40 years ago. He lived at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and used to walk with his puppies. at the end, they messed up his name and image over inheritance.
"Something's Wrong With Me " / Austin Roberts #12 Austin Roberts only top 20 hit 1972 "Rocky" #9 1975 Austin Roberts only top 10 hit as far as sales "Something's Wrong With Me " out sold "Rocky " Casey Kasem will always be a legend whether a DJ or Shaggy from the cartoon series Scooby-Doo.
I adored this man... his voice was... well, you know. 😢 But his choice for a wife SPOKE louder about who he was than anything else he said or did. Sadly because of that choice, he’s buried in a country he never knew, by a vengeful gold digger who got the Gold. 🙄 Rip Casey.
Hello. Haven't heard from you for a while. You would know this, better than anyone. Did they ever resolve the feud? Has everything finally been settled? This is the disadvantage of being well known and wealthy. Take care
Mike, what are Julie's & Jamil's kids' names? How many kids do they have? What are their names? When are their birthdays? When did Julie & Jamil get married? When is Jamil's birthday?
You should have included the meltdown clip where he starts shouting about the 'fucking uptempo record and a goddamn dog death dedication!!!' or whatever lmao.
