Lesson here, when something so unlikely as loose money flying freely occurs, grab what you can and fly your ass like the wind. I likely would not have pulled over like these numb nuts. When it is too good to be true as in this scenario, it usually is. Nevertheless, I hope they released these folks with only a warning.

a cash transporter messed up the job they're paid to do. their negligence caused a safety hazard on a major highway. concerned citizens made an effort to clean up this environmental mess, and now the police and the transport company can't be bothered to do their jobs properly so they just threaten and punish those people that did their job for them

Those armored trucks are extremely secured prior to driving anywhere, their doors just don't pop open and their contents fall out of their containers and fly out all over the place (even in a collision) Extremely suspicious, good thing the FBI is getting involved.

It also works for red light cameras intersections also. It’s upon the state for burden of proof. Plus it’s an agency that does the reviewing then submits it to the state. So technically the 🖕 is to the 3rd party agency not the state.

WTF, a lot of people would pick up the money trying to be helpful. Who said they were going to take it????? A similar thing happened to me once. A car trailering a boat went thru an intersection in front of me, a wallet fell off the back of the boat and 'exploded' when it landed. Money went everywhere. I pulled forward (into the middle of the intersection) and put on the hazard lights because other cars were passing by and blowing the money all around. I got out and picked up the money (with azzholes flying by me) and the guy with the boat came back. I handed him the money. (he did not say 'thanks' but it was sketchy standing in the intersection)

Lol this happened to me and my family on the 294 freeway in Illinois, someone robbed a bank and threw the money out the window, we all hopped out and started grabbing cash as police few past to catch the car, the highway was a dead stop, even after grabbing the cash witch was like over 4 k between the 4 of us I didn’t see one cop stop or anything arrested and trust me we got stuck in dead stop traffic for a while. Seem like anything you do in California will get you locked up
