The truck has a tracking device. So rather than chasing it, they were keeping tabs on it with the tracking device. The driver has a really powerful heavy duty truck and was getting very dangerous with his maneuvers. So they are opting to track the vehicle with the tracking device its equipped with rather than put innocent drivers at risk.

NOT) ends with possibly stolen truck (ed. - 'stolen' duh; ya think?!) sideswiping another (correction: sideswiping YET another) car (ed. - thereby endangering yet ANOTHER vehicle / driver, needlessly because of LEO following "Whimp 101" guidebook). Can you imagine 1) the public outcry) and 2) the lawsuits against the state and county if the stolen (yes, STOLEN) truck had hit, for example, a Thousand Oaks or Newberry Park adult female and her two children in the designated crosswalk on their 'green' and instantly been splattered all over kingdom come?! "johnabbottphotography," it's not 'people in California' its the mindless, paradise-destroying ones in charge of SO MANY aspects of daily life that make it challenging for the 99.9% to 'deal with.' It's as maddening as what's happened to that once, vacationers' and lovers' paradise to the north, San Francisco, whose downfall right before the world's eyes gives Third World Countries a run for the money for "WORST of the worst." No, the CHP did not give up. The ground pursuit followed a safe distance. The guy eventually drove off the road and became stuck. There was a brief standoff, the guy tried to run and was captured.

never will 4get the tank chase!...pretty sure it was a chp officer that climbed up ,popped the hatch open and smoked the guy after the tank got high centered on the center divider of the fwy.....i could be wrong but definitely one of the more unique and memorable chases. u never saw any of this just letting people go non sense! if u ran in a vehicle and the bird got over u, someone was going to prison. definitely different times we are living in now.....

I think the dude was high on meth also, but yea, CHP used to be on your ASS until you made a mistake, the PIT got you, or their trusty Spike strip. I’m surprised they didn’t use it today
