Cash Stuffing | Budgeting June 2024 | Sinking Funds 

My fiance and I recently cancelled near every subscription we had as an exercise to see which ones we missed the most to add back. It's the nuclear option, but I like it. We ended up cancelling at least 4 for good! Feels so good.

I made it to the very last day of no eating out. I actually gave in for a good reason My central air conditioner died on us at the beginning of the week and it has been in the 90's inside the house and then I finally ran out of propane to cook out on the grill. So it was to the sub shop to get subs for the family. I am proud of us for making it that long. Cannot wait until the HVAC can get here to us to replace the unit. And yes it is a 26 year old unit and it is in fact in need of being buried.

I saved $15 with Hello Honey today. So excited to finish this challenge. I am over 400 dollars and so excited to put this into sinking funds! 💛

A little savings tip with oil changes is go to a dealer and take your own oil and filter, you get to choose the quality of oil and filter you use which is often better than the ones used by places that do oil changes and they can't charge you for parts which have a massive mark up on them. I had two days where i spent on vending(take out) last week. I pay for subscriptions that i don't really use but my mom does we don't have cable so its how she watches her shows. Going to have to pause cause i have to go to work. Hello Honey Each glass is $2 and i saved $2 dollars today. 😞

Good morning 🌞 Since beginning cash stuffing I have been trying to practice a minimalist lifestyle. This has helped me live below my means and save. I have not had cable in about 20 years, same reason as you. However my kids had different Disney videos to choose from or borrowed from my parents. I saved $20 this week.

Personal Mini Challenge DONE! Cancelled cable 6+ years ago! I am a HUGE football fan - my husband pays for a service so I can watch my football but we cancel as soon as the Superbowl is over. Plus I didn't buy any take out last week! I got ALL four WRONG in Hello Honey BUT I'm going to save $10 anyway!

I think I did pretty good with no eating out last week! We only ate out on Friday and usually, me and my husband eat out every day! I saved $20 for hello honey today and that was the last one I needed to color in! This weeks personal mini-challenge, my husband is going to hate! So we don't have cable at all but we have RU-vid Premium, Netflix, and Crunchy Roll, and he refuses to get rid of them! 🤣❤️

My household completed the mini personal challenge for last week. We have been cable free for 3 years now. We love it. We have our subscriptions but it is way way less than our cable bill was.

Jenn you should get a digital antenna for the local channels. They are pretty cheap. They come in handy when you live in hurricane prone areas anyway. We had to get one when cable/internet was out for weeks after Michael. $16 with HH

Also, my husband and I did not eat out this past week until Saturday night because his friend wanted to take us out for our birthdays this week. He paid for and we saved our money. 😅

Saved $31 for H.H. - 3 wrong at $7 each, and one correct for $10. That seems like a high amount for just an oil change. That is about what I paid for an oil change and 3 new wipers a couple months ago. That comforter is great all on its own, and really goes well with the acccent wall. Tones down the wall, and makes the coral in the comforter really pop. Your hair looks really nice. Cut cable too many years ago to count. No streaming services at all. Do need to re-look at my other subscriptions and cancel at least 3 of them.... had done that last year but managed to sign up for a few more. Ugh. Have a wonderful time with all the kids there!! Hello Honey, was a total $10. Unfortunately take out was a nessacery evil - 2 trips to the ER for Hubby who has kidney stones as in 6 or more surgery is 1st of 2 is Monday. So a different type of fireworks for us this year 😮. Cancelled cable 2 years ago - what used to pay for cable pays for the 2 subscription we do have for 2 and a half months.

Not long ago I had to have an oil change. I called my son to check with him about the amount. I thought it was high, but my son said $75.00 wasn't bad. That's here in Illinois. So your's may not be too bad. Thank you for sharing your ideas.

I did $5.00 for correct answers and $10.00 for incorrect answers. You got me for $30.00! Yes, I got two correct and two incorrect!!! I have already challenged most of our tv scriptions! I kept RU-vid tv and paramount, and bit rid of four more and still don't pay but a quarter of what my cable/satellite bill used to be, of course I live in a rural area and it was way to high at the time!

Good morning my love!! Im so pumped were coming up on the end of this sheet of HH && Ill be dumping it to my student loan. I had to watch in parts...ummmm $150 for an oil change is insane! I'm in SC (actually very close to April) & I paid $120 for an oil change, a set of wiper blades (those effers were like $30/piece) & a tire rotation...okay smoke show with the hair!!!! Seriously looks amazing you can't even tell you have Grey's. I have a decent amount of subscriptions but I always renew around black Friday, I rotate emails and qualify new rates 😂 gotta game the system some times. I'm gonna find out how much I pay overall. I loved the emphasis on Count It...I sucked at it but I'll def be saying it your way from now on ❤ My HH total is $16

Good morning Jenn! We canceled our cable over two years ago. My husband was like Jason, he loves watching the news & sports but we are able to get local channels & free apps for both. We also have Max & that is plenty. You are so right, oil changes are outrageous! The first time I needed to get it done without my husband having to do it, I was shocked. Jen, I actually reduced my streaming costs last month. I was paying 95$ a month and reduced it to 25. I don't miss it at all and I'm thrilled with the savings.

wow that is a lot, I paid $120 at the dealership last time, and I think dealerships charge more. I canceled cable ten years ago the price was just going up and up and there were no channels that justified keeping cable. I budget separately. My husband was budgeting for a trip to CA. , which is pass and hasn’t saved anything 🤦🏼‍♀️ he pays for any subscriptions he wants. I'm thinking that with all the money your taking out to pay yourself back you should put it into grocery fund since it's a big family weekend. It may help in the long run or not . Just a suggestion.

Hi Jen! I actually did the subscription review when I first started cash stuffing a year ago, but now that this is a challenge. I want to revisit this. I had no idea how many subscriptions I actually had until I did a spreadsheet of all the ones I had and forgot about. It was a great eye-opener for me. I saved $7 for HH. I did $2 for the ones I got right and $1 for the ones I got wrong. Oh and for our oil changes, ours run around $65/75. $142 seems pretty hefty!! Have a Happy 4th of July! ♥🤍💙

We are camping this week but plan to figure out my subscriptions when I get home and at least cancel one! Baby Steps!

My HH was $30 ($5 for right answers and $10 for wrong ones). Not doing the challenge this week since we just dropped our cable from $80 a month and went with a new company for $50 a month. We are looking at what streaming services to disconnect since we aren't using all of them all the time. Vet bills are sooo pricey. My doodle dog got very sick. Took him to vet walked out with drops, antibiotics after blood work and urine test. 900$. No diagnosis& told he needs additional testing over 1 thousand$ if this didn't work. Had another appt for follow up to be added to that thousand. He's deteriorating so fast. Had another professional look over results. They say cancer. Wish I would have done this budgeting suff much much sooner. Things may have been different for him if I had.

Good morning! I completed all 7 days of No Takeout, saved over $50! I don't have cable and had canceled my subscriptions 3 months ago. I still want to challenge myself this week so I'm not going to buy any books (I have 5 new books to get 😢). But I can do this! I simplified my saving challenge binders and reduced the amount of games. It was overstimulating and I couldn't finish any since I had so many going. For HH, I saved $12 but as a bonus I doubled my winning for a total of $24! Have a Happy 4th of July and a great visit with the kids!

Yes, I grew up with my brothers doing oil changes in the driveway. Florida person here too. Then they used to be 10 dollars. Now way over inflated with their prices.
