I'm convinced it's taken this long for us to get a Bendigo Cashies special because this is the first time in a long time that Wade has a car that doesn't die on him after maybe an hour of use.
With the metal detector bit i was like “oh thats funny i used to have one as well” and then my heart exploded as he revealed that it was the exact same model as the one he bought
As an American, I am jealous that we don’t have cashies, also I thought it was ACTUALLY called cashies, but then I remember that aussies nickname everything on planet earth, so “cash converters” is “cashies” LMAOOO, absolutely love it, keep putting in the work down unda
@@JozefLucifugeKorzeniowski Yes but cashies actually has stuff that you would actually want unlike Goodwill which has 99% clothes and a toaster it also takes advantage of disabled people and doesn't have a fun name to say.
Dankpods: "Frank. We're gonna go get me nuggets. We've gotta go to Bendigo to get my Cashies nuggets! We're gonna go to Bendigo, Frank!" Frank: (says nothing and stares blankly, as usual)
I don't live in Australia and have no nostalgic feelings towards the decor, but Cashies HQ needs to keep the store looking that way. The only change they should make is to adopt your jingle. It was professionally done after all, and tells customers all they need to know
If you are a Patron, could you let him know about the Lvpin amplifier please! Basically, that hunk a junk, crack suitcase speaker box is powered by an infamous amplifier. it's famous for having a '90s car stereo amplifier chip that they hand desoldered in China! I had one of those. Pretty well known on the internet. If he could take it apart, he would see that it was ghetto put together from second hand parts in some old factory in China! (Just Google Lvpin amplifier) Thanks
Fun fact: Otis McDonald (the producer of "Scarlet Fire") recently gave DankPods a shoutout on his channel. BTW subscribe to Otis McDonald... his music slaps and his live streams are very comfy 👌
@ 1:47 HOLY FRICK dudes!! It's 3am here. I just woke up an hour ago from dreaming about a real past event that happened in the 4th grade ('76-'77)!! The girls were crying hysterically over a rumor in one of the Teeny mags, that Shaun Cassidy had gotten beat up by members of KISS and stomped by their boots. I'm between shocked and laughing!! 🤣
The fact that he drove from Adelaide to Bendigo (around 550km) just to make a 15 minute video Really shows his passion and lengths to entertain us. Happy Late Australia day!
@@GrumpyTy34er and he chose the best car for it too. Aussie made commodore made for those big drives and could get 800km or more out of a tank with it.
Yo, actual Bendigonian (yes, the actual word for it) here. Thank you so much for visiting our city's cashies. My manager's girlfriend actually works there, can't wait to show her. I know it was a long trip from Adelaide, but I hope it was all worth it. Come back soon for more random junk you'll find around. I recommend going to Ballarat's cashies next. Easier drive, another nice city, and I think they have two
There are places in the bush near my house where the appearance of certain forms of ant means Get The Fuck Out. I swear to God, some varieties literally seem to be shaking their fists at me.
I can imagine one day, Dank visits cashies often enough that corporate sends a memo to all cashies all over Australia, and when Danks goes in, the staff goes "IT'S HIM! IT'S THE ONE GUY WHO BUYS ALL THE WEIRD AND OLD LESS USEFUL STUFF!"
Didn't this basically happen in one of the older ones, some guy working there recognized him and just gave him like an iCloud locked iPod Touch for free
i literally went here 6 days ago, saw the homemade speaker for $95 and thought "no one's crazy enough to buy this". thank you for proving me wrong. also, im surprised you didn't go after the 5 crappy ipod docks they have there
5:04 he shows emotion on a consistent basis compared to other channels but this is another side of wade, as a new viewer this is the most emotion I have ever seen and it is perfect
I moved out of Bendigo about 3 years ago. I remember that stack of knock off pods being there when I used to visit Cashies. Thanks for finally liberating them 😂
Thank You Dankpods! I got my Grado’s and my KZ Es4 through your influence and I absolutely adore them. I have been watching you for the past 3 years and have now gotten your patron and look at your drum streams on floatplane (twitch is the worst btw). Your the best!

That cashies rant was top notch, all I want to read in the news now is that after bendigo cashies was renovated, an angry Aussie who doesn't even live in bendigo burnt down cashies hq with a packet of tomato sauce while screaming about how his favourite brand of sausages would never betray him like this.
That suit case speaker was likely made by a bloke from Bendigo, he makes peoples items into speakers, like he made a speakers out of a guitar and a guitar case for two sons who’s dad died out of his guitar
Does it Snow in Bendigo? Chapter 1: The Question One bright and sunny morning, a curious little kangaroo named Kipp was hopping around the Australian bush near his home in Bendigo. Kipp loved exploring and discovering new things, but today, he had a very important question on his mind. "Does it snow in Bendigo?" he wondered aloud. His best friend, a cheeky kookaburra named Kylie, perched on a nearby branch and heard him. "What a funny question, Kipp!" she laughed. "Why do you want to know that?" Kipp looked up at her with wide eyes. "I read about snow in a book, Kylie. It's white and cold, and it looks so fun to play in! But I've never seen it here. Do you think it could snow in Bendigo?" Kylie tilted her head and thought for a moment. "Hmm, I don't know, Kipp. Let's ask around and find out!" And so, their adventure began. Chapter 2: Asking the Animals Kipp and Kylie decided to ask their animal friends if they knew the answer to Kipp's question. First, they found Wally the wombat, who was busy digging a new burrow. "Wally, do you know if it ever snows in Bendigo?" Kipp asked eagerly. Wally paused and scratched his head. "Snow? I don't think so, Kipp. I've never seen snow here, and I've been digging in this dirt for years. But maybe someone else knows!" Next, they visited Bella the bandicoot, who was nibbling on some berries. "Bella, have you ever seen snow in Bendigo?" Kylie asked. Bella shook her head. "No, I've never seen snow here. But I've heard stories about a place called the mountains where snow falls every winter. Maybe we should ask someone who's been there!" With that idea in mind, Kipp and Kylie set off to find an animal who had traveled to the mountains. Chapter 3: Meeting Max the Magpie As they hopped and flew through the bush, Kipp and Kylie spotted Max the magpie, who was known for his adventurous spirit. Max had flown all over Australia and seen many different places. "Max, we need your help!" Kipp called out. Max swooped down and landed gracefully beside them. "What can I do for you, my friends?" he asked with a friendly chirp. "We're trying to find out if it ever snows in Bendigo," Kylie explained. "Have you ever seen snow here?" Max chuckled. "No, I've never seen snow in Bendigo. But I have seen it in the mountains! Snow falls there every year, and it's just as magical as you imagine, Kipp. The whole world turns white, and it's very cold!" Kipp's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Wow! That sounds amazing, Max. Do you think we could see it one day?" Max nodded. "I think you could. The mountains aren't too far from here, and if you're patient, maybe you'll get to see snow someday." Chapter 4: Learning About Weather Kipp and Kylie decided to learn more about why it doesn't snow in Bendigo. They visited Wise Old Owl, who knew everything about the weather. "Wise Old Owl, can you tell us why it doesn't snow in Bendigo?" Kipp asked politely. Wise Old Owl adjusted his spectacles and hooted softly. "Of course, young ones. Bendigo is in a part of Australia where the climate is usually too warm for snow. Snow needs very cold temperatures, and we don't get that cold here. But up in the mountains, it's much colder, which is why snow falls there." Kipp nodded, understanding a little better now. "So, it's because of the weather and the temperature?" "That's right," Wise Old Owl said. "But remember, every place has its own special kind of beauty, whether it has snow or not." Chapter 5: A Snowy Surprise As winter approached, Kipp couldn't stop thinking about snow. One chilly morning, Kylie flew over to Kipp's house, looking very excited. "Kipp, wake up! I have a surprise for you!" she squawked. Kipp rubbed his eyes and followed Kylie outside. To his amazement, the ground was covered in a light dusting of white frost. "It's not snow," Kylie said, "but it's the closest thing we get in Bendigo! It's called frost, and it happens when it's really cold overnight." Kipp hopped around, feeling the frosty grass crunch under his feet. "It's beautiful, Kylie! Thank you for showing me." From that day on, Kipp appreciated the unique beauty of Bendigo even more. And though he still dreamed of seeing real snow one day, he was happy knowing that every place has its own special wonders to discover. 2:06
I thought bendigo was far away from me (lives near melbourne), and wade's going there from ADELAIDE for content? MAD RESPECT, you never cease to impress
Just remember to NOT put Diesel in the tank "Unless you're supposed to put Diesel in there in which case DO NOT NOT forgot to do that". Oh always remember to grab your cube!
You should still check the suitcase. It has a charge setting. I think there is a battery hidden inside. You don’t want it to leak secretly in your storage ruining other stuff.
The whole story of the old Cashies signage not being updated in decades reminds me of an EB Games near where I live which looked pretty much like it was stuck in the late 90s for the longest time until they remodeled in 2019. You could go there in 2018 and find tacky Chuck E. Cheese-esque carpeting, the old "EB World" logo everywhere, the walls had slowly cracking blue paint and if you looked in the right place you could find old signage for the PS2, original Xbox and even Sega Dreamcast.
10:48 Could that be a reference to the types of speakers included? Dog: woofer/subwoofer Bird: tweeter Beer: midrange? (apparently there is a beer called that all the way in brisbane)
I was bingewatching the other cashies special today while doing some work, and I was thinking "Too bad it's only been a few months. no way there'll be another so soon." BUT THEN YOU UPLOADED A NEW ONE!! What a serendipitous day~
Snowboards cause we had a freezing cold start to summer here in Victorio. So cold that the alpines east of melbourne (in the high country) had MORE snow than winter
"Im here to say DONT YOU TOUCH IT!! CASHIES DONT YOU TOUCH IT AT ALL!!! ITS PERFECT!!!! ITS A CASHIES TIME CAPSULE!!!!! IM GONNA CHECK IN! IF I CHECK IN AND SEE THAT YOU CHANGED IT, I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT ILL DO!!!" -DankPods, 2023
That suitcase speaker though jank af is kinda awesome. Itd be cool to very lightly repair, like anchor down the innards and replace that punctured driver but still. Looks cool as hell
Accusound is the brand of amp speakers that my dad had when he was in his early 20s. I use them to this day. Very good. And he used a big sub woofer as well
In the land of Bendigo, where the sun always shines The people there would ask, "Does it ever snow? Is it ever fine?" But no, no, no, it doesn't snow in Bendigo The weather's always warm, there's never a flake, you know The kookaburras laugh, and the galahs play The cockatoos dance, on a sunny day The eucalyptus trees, they sway in the breeze The koalas nap, in their leafy trees But when the people ask, "Does it ever snow?" The answer is always no, no, no So if you're ever in Bendigo, and you're feeling low Just remember, it's always sunny, and there's no snow!
you’ve probably forgotten about this month old comment, but i think it was unintentional foreshadowing of the P9 from the bootleg airpod max video from earlier today (or yesterday depending on your time zone)
“Brings a tear to my eye and fluids out of other orifices To see that no matter where I wind up mate I can find stacks of vintage video games sleee aa (short pause for not so dramatic affect) excellent!” 2:33
When it comes to detecting in Australia, there is always a chance to find money. I've found over $50 in 6 pence, pennies, 1c and 2c coins in the small park across the road from my house. I've found upwards of $600 at one camp site in the middle of the desert. Also found an American $1 and a Euro in the middle of the Simpson deserts most remote trail. 3-7 days of driving at 15km/h in sand... AND I FOUND COINS FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PLANET
Ah yes, the boom box briefcase brings me back to 2016 when my older brother, my dad and my neighbor tried to make a boom box out of an old briefcase for no discernable reason. Unlike the one in the video though, this one was supposed to be ambitious. FM Radio, a huge grid of programmable LED lights, and Bluetooth connectivity thru a Raspberry Pi. Considering that my dad is an architect and not an electronics guy, it was abandoned really quickly. The car battery that powered the boom box died after four months of use and we never got to implement the Raspberri Pi or the Bluetooth functuonality
@@vapid6311 how did you forget the 97 massage shops and menagerie of asian restaurants/ street eats? but yeah, the whole place has gone to pot, that's for sure.
@@MTVBrat talkin' bad on obento in pall mall is a good way to get mugged by the scooter kids thank you. Anyways, I honestly think the place is fairly decent, then again, I've experienced castlemaine, so maybe the bar just got lowered
@@vapid6311 baha, I've no problem with franchise or honest business. I'm more prone to be wary of the local kickboxers than the scooter kids, thanks. No comment on Castlemaine, I haven't been there since pre-pandemic.
I like to imagine the bloke just suddenly started existing, no parents or anything and in 50 years when he passes away someone who doesn't know him has to clean out his storage and is just really confused about 50 pairs of cheap, identical headphones, an old hair clipper, cymbals and some cars all in one room
"There's something special about being at a [thrift store] so far away from home" is such a true statement. Ever since I became a thrifting junkie, I find that it's interesting to go to thrift stores and antique stores during vacations. It seems to me that they tend to have way better shit than the stores close to home. I've scored some seriously primo gaming shit on the cheap (like a $12 GCN Component Cable). Alongside some war memorabilia of... "questionable" legality due to certain allegiances, from this one antique shop in Florida.
