What a lot of people miss is that Ginger didn't die by accident, but was murdered by being given a "hot dose" (an intentional overdose). You hear her saying "Oh, no! No! No!" and then wanders out of the room looking for help and dies. It made it look like an accident to the police so that they wouldn't keep looking at her death. Ace figured it out after the private autopsy.

16:50 It might different in Europe, but in the US, safe deposit boxes are just that. . . a safe box. In general the bank does not know specifically what is in the box. Only the owner of the box has that information. There's really no records, like normal liquid assets in a bank(which are all tracked and monitored).

Crazy fun fact - the hitman in the "Costa Rica" scene was played by real-life ex-mobster Frank Cullotta who was a member of the real-life crew of Nicky (Tony Spilotro). He served as a technical advisor on the film. He's also the guy who actually performed the hit that scene was based one. If you are ever in Vegas, you can take a Mob tour where they take you to a lot of the actual locations of this film. My favorite was they park the Tour Van in the actual spot where the car of the real life Ace Rothstein (Lefty Rosenthal) was bombed.

Fun fact: Nicky’s lawyer was played by Oscar Goodman who was actually a attorney for the mob. Goodman would later become the mayor of Las Vegas from 1999-2011. His wife Carolyn took over as mayor after he was term limited. She is still the mayor to this day.

Even crazier? The hitman in the Costa Rica scene was played by real-life ex-mob hitman Frank Cullotta who served as a technical advisor on the film. Frank was a member of the gang lead by Anthony Spilotro (character Nicky is based on) and was the inspiration of Frank Marino (played by Frank Vincent). Even crazier than that? _He was the actual hitman for the murder the "Costa Rica" hit was based on_ they have a video talking about it in the Mob Museum in Las Vegas (great place to visit if you are ever in the area). I saw an interview with him and he commented that he was paid better for the scene in Casino than he was paid for the actual hit.

The elderly woman at 3:03 is Martin Scorsese's mother, Catherine Scorsese. She also appeared in Goodfellas, playing Joe Pesci's mother. She was a natural. In addition, Martin's father played one of the hitmen who liquidated Joe Pesci, also in Goodfellas. So, it was a family thing, if you get my meaning.

The guy De Niro's character was based off of was Frank Rosenthal, it is believed that the reason he was able to walk away from all the fallout when the Feds shut everything down is that he was an FBI informant. Also Rostein was made to be a sympathetic character for the movie but in reality Rosenthal cheated on Ginger and physical abused her.

Yet another great reaction!!!! Definitely hit two more Scorsese/De Niro classics: "The King Of Comedy" and "Cape Fear" that are totally iconic (and, in "Cape Fear", their biggest hit), and yet no reactions for them yet. "Raging Bull", "Taxi Driver", "Mean Streets" and "The Irishman" are other essential collaborations between De Niro and Scorsese. Adding Pesci to the mix, he's in "Raging Bull" and "The Irishman". You should see "The Irishman" after you've seen "Mean Streets" and "Taxi Driver" so you can fully appreciate the casting of Harvey Keitel. Another great Scorsese movie is "After Hours", as is "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" (again with Harvey Keitel).

Ok- so, where to start🤔 Quite a bit Scorsese was true to in the film. ‘Back Home’, for the record, was Chicago Heights, a southern suburb. Nicky in real life = Tony Spilotro. There were 5 Spilotro brothers. Of the 5, 1 ‘went straight’ as we called it. Meant something different in those days. Believe it or not, only a year after Tony (Nicky) & his brother were beaten & buried alive in that Indiana cornfield, a 3rd brother was made by the same crew. Frank (Mariano in the film, Cullotta in real life) did NOT participate in the beating of Nicky/Tony as the film depicts. He was already in the witness protection program after turning state’s evidence bc Tony/Nicky put a hit out on him & he had a wife & child. Still, it bothered Frank until his own passing how they did that… burying them alive. Frank C. actually shows up a few times in the film in cameos which I’m surprised he did. How did Scorsese find Frank in witness protection to consult on both Casino & Goodfellas? BC Pesci had legit mob ties… the movie (not Broadway show) Jersey Boys outed him. Frank Rosenthal/Ace in the film actually ran several casinos- the Stardust, Hacienda, Fremont and Marina for the Chicago Outfit. The Tangiers name was created for the film. Frank Rosenthal moved to California and then FL. He and Geri/Ginger actually had 2 children. He passed in 2008 in south FL. Geri/Ginger passed in 1982 in CA. Frank C/Mariano in the film passed of Covid complications in 2020 in where else? Las Vegas. I know some say ‘killing with honor’ is absurd, and maybe so… but I can tell you what they didn’t do- they didn’t kill women or children, and they didn’t just drive by crowds and start spraying bullets indiscriminately. I think we can probably ALL agree that NO killing would be best of all 😏 Love your reactions! Stay safe & love much💖

He cheated on his wife and beat her and controlled everything she did and her boyfriend wasn't a pimp. They were high school sweet hearts and Vegas kind of corrupted her. Hey guys, new subscriber here! Recommend you check out *My Cousin Vinny* , great 90s classic courtroom comedy with Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei.

This Movie is 100% based on a True story but its not about the mafia its about the biggest simp of all time Frank Rosenthal. If your interested in details their are plenty of documentary’s on this event and the late Frank Collotta (Frank Vincent character) did alot of interviews about this before his death if your interested in details. My Mob movie pic would be a Movie called “Things to do in Denver when your dead”… Not real but good… if you want real the movie “Kill the irishman” is alright not to be confused with the irishman which sucked and built around some guys BS story starring geezer Deniro and geezer pesci who are past their prime trying to grab that old glory.
