I’m part of a very very rare crowd that actually prefers Casino over Goodfellas. I mean I love Goodfellas, but something about the Vegas mob setting just worked incredibly well here. I loved the characters, loved the setting, and loved the vice scene haha. Glad to hear you really enjoyed it.

Great review! Really great perspective for your first time watch! Really glad you watched this gem of a movie and that Scorcese is becoming one of your favourite directors. The ending is one of the most brutal death scenes I've ever seen on screen

I remember having the VHS for Casino and really liking the movie. The 4k has been on my radar especially when it goes on sale on Amazon occasionally. Thanks for the review!

I remember seeing it on VHS as a kid at my grandfather's house. It was in a double pack. Wish I had it in the collection, but glad to have this 4K. Definitely worth a pickup for 15. Thanks for watching!

I love this movie! I have bought it on dvd and blu ray. Very tempted to get the 4K. So much double dipping gets expensive though. The blu ray does look good though.

Thanks Ken for a great review of a great movie, i haven't seen it on 4k yet, I own it but like you i have it on the shelf and haven't got around to watching it yet, i think I'm going to give it a spin this weekend. Love Scorsese and love Casino! For me, this film is only just below Goodfellas but both films are amazing. The picture on the disc is far superior to the Goodfellas 4K though, the pop with the HDR is amazing, I was really impressed with it. Great review, Scorsese is a master, glad you're enjoying his films!

Great review Ken. Was fortunate to have seen both Goodfellas and Casino in the theater and Casino is often referred to as the sequel to Goodfellas although not directly. If you haven’t had a chance, check out the remake of Cape Fear. Another Scorsese classic.

I also think Goodfellas is slightly better as it’s my 13th favorite movie but Casino is still well within my Top 100, somewhere in the 50/60 range.

I've actually never seen casino. I should probably consider finally getting around to watching it before diving into getting a 4k copy. Have seen goodfellas however and it's one of my all time favorite gangster movies.

Goodfellas is the better film for me but Casino honestly isn't far behind, it's an amazing film, I can honestly recommend blind buying the disc, picture will blow you away!

As much as I like Scorsese's more well-known films like Goodfellas and Taxi Driver, I prefer films such as Shutter Island, The Aviator, and The Age of Innocence.
