CASIO CT-X5000 Demo & Review 

The Man makes any keyboard sound freakin the best there is...

The breathy air simulation of saxophone,flute and trumpets is enough to convince me to buy this model.

This keyboard is impressive for the price. Casio did a great job with this unit. It has a 17 track sequencer, solid styles, some great sounds, sound editing (which is not often found in arranger keyboards), mp3 and wav player, rhythm builder, phrase builder, and more. I have read it's not easy to use in terms of menu diving, but that's most likely due to the smaller screen; but if you can work around that I think Casio has likely sold a boat-load of these things. There are features in this unit that cross between arranger and synth workstation. I'm interested to see if they do an update to this board or come out with something like a Casio CT-X6000. For now, the CT-X5000 is not bad at all...in fact pretty darn good for the price with features you would normally find on arranger keyboards costing $1000 and up.

I've had one of these for almost two years, and I can say that is definitely very good for the price. That's it. It's not amazing, but you are also paying only $500, so it's very much worth it. When I got mine in November of 2019, I was coming from a $100 keyboard and was not a very good player, so something like this was mind-blowing. After months of teaching myself and being taught the technicalities and art of music on both keyboard/piano and various other instruments, I've started to feel limited by the keyboard, but I still appreciate all that I've learned and explored on it. So, if you're someone who wants to explore music and improve upon your abilities and don't have very deep pockets, than this keyboard is a great choice.

He plays Bruno Mars without playing the song. Brilliant. I put Mr. Ujiie on autoplay and watch for hours. So much fun to watch him play so effortlessly.

This keyboard is impressive. It offers a multitude of features that you can't find on other keyboards without costing you an arm and leg. The sound is excellent, really authentic and the speakers are well made. No crackling and you can really hear those deep base tones you can't usually hear on other keyboards with built-in speakers. I'm very happy with this purchase. Great job Casio.

Here's what I would say to the detractors of Casio in general and this board in the demo. Perception doesn't always equate with reality. And affordability isn't always analogous to lower value or quality. This may not seem like the keyboard of the stars. But it could very well be the keyboard that is the maker of tomorrow's star 🎼🎶🎙🎹🕶😎

CT-X700 is already incredible All models of CT-X have same sounds

This keyboard sounds fantastic (especially the "breathy" instruments)! But it doesn't function as an audio interface. So you'd have to run it through a dedicated audio interface to record this great-sounding audio. The extra features over the CTX-3000 seem worth the price.

25年くらい前のカシオトーンを2台持ってます。いやぁ全然ピアノの音が違いますね。見た目はでっかいスピーカーが玩具っぽいけど欲しくなりました。Amazonや楽天で2019年4月現在46000円程度ですね。

I think that the relatively recent development of the AiX processor for the first time positions Casio as a credible challenge to Yamaha. And it's not that Casio has been deficient in quality. It's more about perception. Yamaha has been at it slightly longer than Casio. The two have been pitted against each other as far back as the 80s for the attention and the pocket books of the legions of casual musicians. The CTX-5000 is one of the recent additions to a line of affordable keyboards that are feature packed and almost overwhelming in the fidelity of sound production/reproduction. It will be interesting to see where this as well as the revived and redesigned Casiotone line show up.
