Just a bit of a personal service message; I was NOT a fan of this sand look bracelet and bezel but I AM a very big fan of this module and the yellow/gold-ish display so I bought one and swapped out the module with one of my all black 5600 squares and it's now one of my most favourite G's. It looks amazing with the grey surround to the display and those little green pips indicating what the buttons do. Highly recommended mod!
@@thetwopointslow A tiny screwdriver and a Bergeron tool thingy to remove the springbars for the band but I'm sure you could bodge them off with a tiny slotted screwdriver if that's all you have available. For each watch you're going to swap the movement out of; 1) Remove bands with Bergeron tool thingy 2) Unscrew the 4 phillip's head bolts from the bezel, keep them safe because if they fall on the floor or carpet (yikes!) they are buggers to find 3) Use your fingers to gently pry/lift off bezel, lift up one side over the pushers and it will come off all the way easy peasy after that. 4) Grab the movement you want to install the bezel and band on and follow those directions in reverse. Will take about 20-25 minutes to do both watches if you stop and make yourself a coffee along the way ;)
I really like that watch, it’s one of my favourite from Casio, people complain about the lack of battery indicator but once it’s full it stays there as long as the watch can catch a little light! Great review as always very well done! ✌🏼😎👍🏼
Hey Greg, I enjoy your videos as they are most informative. I have had many watches over the years and I love accuracy. My '60s Omega Seamaster was good to a few seconds a day and my Seiko 6139 I could get down to under 2 seconds a day. Sometimes under half a minute a month as it would gain or lose randomly. The reason I mention this is because about a year ago I picked up a Casio G-Shock square - a GW-B5600MG for accuracy. I live on the West Coast of Canada and can't get the Colorado time signal but I connected it to my cell for the app time signal. Worked great for a few months, Ironically, I then disconnected the watch from the phone and radio reception to test the module accuracy and have absolutely amazed. In 6 months it is less than 1/4 second off. So why even use all the synchronizing ability. Any watch will gain or lose depending if you wear it or not. I wear this about 12 hrs a day and then I use a smart watch with heart monitor for the rest of the time. I think it loses a tiny amount when on my wrist and gains while off. Amazing watch, amazing accuracy.
One of my new favorites. Display is a bit yellowish, but looks great when it lights up with that subtle rise and fall. Having BT & Atomic synching is also great. Very comfortable on my wrist. Great G-Shock.
I just add this model to my collection. At first I'm not a fan of gold watchface and the bezel. But I need Bluetooth sync since the place I'm staying don't support multiband. But surprisingly I'm falling in love with it 😍. Only complain I have us that you need to connect to your phone if you want to check battery level
I just got one yesterday. I'm not sure if there's a difference aside from unique color pattern. It says GW-B5600SL-5DR. It looks more dirty and I like it.🙂
Love it! But I have the Midnight Green version and I can't justify another purchase due to the fact that I have three kids who are returning to school here in Spain and I am consequently broke.
Have you reviewed the GBD-200? It is my favorite out of many g-shocks that I’ve tried. It has a negative display but it’s really legible. It doesn’t seem to get much attention in the watch world but I think that’s just because the user interface is a little clunky.
Good video! I ordered this watch and will receive it next week. But I wonder: why is this a 5600 and not 5610? In most cases with very few exceptions, the difference is that the 5600 uses primary battery while the 5600 uses rechargeable battery (tough solar). I also read that one difference is that the 5600 shells are interchangeable between each other and 5610 with each other. But you cannot change out shells between a 5600 and 5610. This watch looks like and has the features of a 5610 but still is called 5600. What is the logic here?
Oh Greg! My wife wants a Casio now that she has been watching (and is a Subscriber) your channel!!! I know once she gets a Casio, she will start collecting them!!! Her critical minimum features she wants a small faced Casio that is digital of time, date, day; powered by solar; backlight; usual alarms; auto time management and can be worn at weddings and fishing events!!! She has an Apple watch and wants move away from! Can you mention a couple of watches for her to consider - pleasssse? Her birthday is coming up. Thank you.
I have this exact watch, my first bluetooth I wanted a positive display and along came this SL series, I thought if I don't like the colour I could change it, now I have it I really like it, the only thing I've not been able to do is, if I set a reminder I can turn it off or on but I can't delete the text, although I can change it, maybe it's just me, there £100 plus shipping from Japan.
Really like the module but not the case and strap. Can i mod this to fit inside my GW-M5610-U (currently with combi bracelet). Is the faceplate with solar panels stuck to the glass or the module itself?
Hu Greg, I just bought this watch and found myself looking at the time at night and Saw on the top left corner by the ps (power save) and saw a dark spot, almost like it's a dead spot on the screen. During day time everything looks good. Almost looks burned out, bit the light but the screen. You think it's defective?
Simply turn off receiving. The setup screens include one with “REC” and you just set it to off. Page seven in the user manual has instructions. support.casio.com/storage/en/manual/pdf/EN/009/qw3459.pdf
The battery life is shown in the app though so I don't see why it's an issue. How often do you need to check the battery when it should last for close to a year in complete darkness?
When the battery is low, it will show "LOW" instead of the date. That almost will never happen though. My watch has only once been low. And that is 1 1/2 years ago.
I'm wearing 5610 & B2100 as daily driver that battery indicator kinda useless, & i wish they bring back day indicator in sub dial instead of battery & mode indicator
The way you smudge your finger not stop across the watch and screen, drives me nuts. It’s gross. Had to stop watching 2:32 into the video. Use like a little pointer stick or something.
