I forgot to note, weirdly enough, the Rogue Fusions that cause floods in the park have a 5% chance of containing a bootleg compared to the usual 2% for some reason according to the wiki. Swarms have an even better chance of 10%. Also I finally 100%'d this game now! 🥳
I got extremely lucky and my first bootleg was an Astral Traffikrab, and thus I got Magikrab before either of the normal evos! Didn't even know you could get it. Still looking for bootlegs to finish my achievements so will be using these tips!
I can give you some info about the fusion stuff. Let me know if yall have any question! - You can save AFTER burning a candle and sacrificing a tape. - The fusions on the map are ALWAYS fixed and based on time. If you save and reset, every time you open the game you will find exactly the same fusions in exactly the same spots appearing on your map in the same exact order, as long as you don't rest and you don't fight them. So what you said at 18:50 is always guaranteed to give the same result every time. It will stay the same as the first time. With ANY random fusion encounter, regardless. If you find, say, a Grass Bootleg Undyin, it will always be a Grass Undyin (in that fusion spot). Obviously after you rest everything will change. The best way to hunt for specific bootlegs is to burn the candle, sacrifice the monster you want (not type, the same monster), save, reset, check every fusion in the map (resetting every time). If it's not there reset once again, sleep twice (change the day), save, repeat. - 4:00 is wrong (kinda). The bootlegs can be of any type, even the original monster type, so it's 1/14. You can find a Plastic Bootleg Traffikrab. 7:48 same thing. 50% it's the type and 50% is the monster but if the monster is picked then it can be ANY type, even the original (Plastic). It's 1/28 for Astral Traffikrab - You can find Candles and Laser tapes as a reward, from Archangels re-fights and Ranger Board level ups. - Speaking of, if you save in front of the Ranger board right before ranking up you can "reroll" the rewards you get from Ianthe. I highly recomment to reroll for Laser tapes! - There is another Ultra Secret achievement that is Pure RNG and no one (afaik) found ANY way to speed it up or make it, well, actually doable. May i introduce you to... Black Shuck. It gives you a 100% catch rate special Tape (Black Shuck tape) that convert the monster you record into Astral Type = basically free Magikrab. You can check the wiki for more info. Good freakin' luck on that. I got it and found out later how lucky i was. It's insane.
I knew about 1 - I just think it's best to save before burning it in case you realise you have to change the sacrifice. 2 - ok, so I thought this was true but wasn't sure. Had a few instances where I didn't get the same result when reloading a save, but I did think it was probably more that too much time had passed rather than the rule not applying. 3 - I didn't know about, I haven't seen a same element bootleg yet in my own gameplay, or on other people's videos, so that catches me off-guard. 4 - actually pretty useful to know, I only did like 3 Archangel re-fights since they only gave me fused material, so I thought it wasn't worth it. If that can happen, then I'll probably do them more. 5 - I also know about, I just don't think I'm gonna particularly try to get it since it is just pure rng it even spawns, and then a 99% chance you can't even fight it even if it does spawn. It's not counted as a Steam Achievement, so I'm probably gonna skip it. Not to mention, the main reason I'd want it would be to get a Magikrab which... Yea I don't think I need anymore help with that now lol. In the about 65hrs I put into my first playthrough I only ever saw it once, and ofc it just disappeared when I approached it. Funnily enough though, when I started my max difficulty nuzlocke save file I've already spotted it twice only a couple hours into that new game, so idk if difficulty can affect its spawn rate or if that's just pure coincidence.
There are plenty of pictures on Reddit with Bootlegs of the "same type". I also posted my full team of bootlegs. Also there is a madlad who shared the bestiary with all 14 bootleg types Magikrab registered XD For Archangels re-fights i farmed a lot of Morgante to extend the Sprint timer. 30+ seconds of sprint feel so good (but i guess 10-15s is plenty enough)
