@@ReticularTunic7 Christopher Lee....This game paid homage to the classic horror films, writers, characters and actors, but it did it with parody names.
Man I loved the NES era, so many fun games. When I turned 16 and got my drivers license this was the first game I drove myself to the store to buy, been playing it ever since. Such a classic game.
I finally beat this game after 2 weeks. I'm just 20 years old but AVGN got me into Castlevania. Old games are some of the best I've ever played. I spent more hours on Death and Dracula combined than the rest before it.
Thanks for showing me what I was not able to accomplish. I had moved and lost the game. I also lost my NES to a fire. I got close, but I never figured out to jump that close to Dracula. Thanks, you completed my teenage years in a way.
I remember this game giving me headaches due eye strain from all the flickering graphics, and of course from the sheer frustration. This game was hard work, not enternainment. IF ONLY I got paid for it, I would be a rich kid.
Remember watching older kids play this game and finally defeat Dracula only to have him turn into a monster and immediately destroy poor Simon Belmondo.
A trick I used is you can walk back down the stairs and let candles reset to collect more hearts, do this until you have almost 40 hearts, and use the boomerang on Draculas head sometimes you can get 2 hits in. When he changes use the boomerrang to to Kill the 3 fireballs, this will give you a chance at dropping the 2X shot, and that will help a lot.
Fuck. This. Boss. Battle. I was playing this on my NES classic and all I can say is thank god the system has the save feature. I was so annoyed fighting Dracula I decided to save every time I at least took a few of his health.
James Banana is a reference to composer James Benard who composed Hammer Films "Dracula" in 1958 (In the US it was known as "Horror of Dracula")...Just FYI.
I beat the game just right now becuz u showed me to jump b4 the cape opening. Ty so much I may not have played these in the NES era but w the anniversary collection on switch I'm finally playing em all ❤ Castlevania has strangely called to me my whole life I can now say I love it! But it's hard af🤣
What's this little blue demon he turns into? I remember after knocking his head off, he turned into a mutant beast, that looked like a long beige bridge beast that nearly took up the entire screen, who had no real room to move, so just lightly jumped back, and forth giving me NO room to move without taking damage, and killing me EVERY SINGLE TIME!
@Randy he is super easy! In order to beat him in the quickest ways, you gotta stand on a platform that’s closest to him and be sure to have holy water with you and enough counts, and the moment he appears on his platform begin spamming tf outta the holy water he gets stunned and takes damage and can’t move, trust me I saw this one long play of castlevania and the dude make the fight look super easy
That was almost a flawless victory! That game is fucking hard and every time I finally reach the end boss and make my way through fighting him, the darn game freezes!!!! Arghhh!!!!!
Worst boss in the game. I don't get why people say death is worst because you can just spam the cross attack. This just feels mostly luck based and hope he does spawn on your bloody head
Once you know how to dodge the fireballs from the first dracula form and that you need to crouch in order to make the second dracula form to make the big jump it is a pretty easy boss to deffeat. The only pain in the ass of this game is the saving system and the fact of having to repeat all the level once you get the game over.
+Oriol Pujol Martínez Dodging the fireballs is easy enough once you know how, but avoiding him spawning on top of you absolutely stumps me. I beat it again today and it must have taken me over 50 tries.
+Ked Viper The only thing I can figure out is to just keep moving. When you reach the area where the far left and far right candles were, turn around and hope Dracula doesn't spawn on top of you. This is really the only thing that's worked for me consistantly
Scott Trusdale Well, yeah. As I said, I did beat it, but it seems like if you turn around at all while you're walking, you won't have time to walk through him. I think it's more bad design than genuine challenge.
I remember that in 2017 i beated castlevania on pal nes , but on ntsc nes i beated the last level & final boss. Because i first ssavestated it from the last level via the powerpak through save file sothat i didn’t had to do it in 1 sitting ,from there on i beated the last level & boss without using save states i had only 1 health ,2 hearth’s & 2 lives left ,but man it was damn hard, pffff.
Let's see here... Small hitboxes for dealing damage, RNG because Dracula can spawn right on you, jumps are hard to time, etc. Not to be rude, but have you even played the game?
I know no one is gonna see this, but how do you get underneath Dracula when he jumps at you on his second form? Simon moves too slow, and Dracula's hitbox is far too big.
You have made i very clear you have never played this game, as he is literally one of the hardest bosses in gaming history if not the single hardest boss in gaming history. This is coming from someone who has beaten every Contra. Sit the fuck down and go back to your Call of Duty kid.
Well I'm very very sorry you had trouble jumping, whipping, and walking slowly under his jumps, but Dracula was cake compared to Nightmare in Kirby's Adventure.
....Are you watching this right now. Did you play this game at all. Dracula is a walk in the park. I was more afraid of those Medusa heads than I was of the Count.
You clearly only watched it and never played it kid. Looks easy is one thing. Manning made breaking the number of touch downs thrown in one season look easy doesn't make It easy.
