3:13 Funnily, despite having a distinct sound and being "louder", the Dead Ringer's decloak noise fades more quickly than that of the other watches. The sound is actually lower past a certain distance.
15:20 - to me equipping the razorback means that sniper doesn't want to think or be aware of anything around him and is more likely to not have the reaction time to quickscope if i gun him down
This is typically my default load out. The fact the le' tranger and the Big Earner both refill the DR makes the DR almost never run out. Absolute blast for chainstabs too.
Does not do that for me, but I know I’m crap at spy. Part of that is probably limited maps through lack of confidence: I’m probably not doing myself any favors only playing spy on 2fort (where I still accomplish nothing and die), but I am so not confident in my spy skill that I avoid picking him like the plague in a more serious game.
@@isenokami7810 I avoid playing him on 2fort but I do play it and learn why I love the abassdor so much I scared of some pyros using that gun, headshot than running away like taking pot shots til I either die or somehow live, or get saved by a anyone, likely just barely get away than kill for another day
@@Odium_DOB Yeah, one advantage to not using the Amby is that I’m just worried about hitting the guy, not his head. Part of why I think my revolver aim is at least somewhat better than other aim areas I need to work on. Similar situation with sniper: I suck at him, so when I play him I just try to hit people at all, headshots are secondary. And yet, while they’re both single shot in a somewhat similar way, I can at least hit people with some of my revolver shots, whereas I am just the worst sniper even when just bodyshotting. Despite giving sniper more tries than spy overall.
@@isenokami7810 I hate sniper because how painful or boring it is to play as him. spy is more fun to me than sniper, but I think I suck, this gun will make me suck less. which it kinda does heck I scared my friend was a good sniper main who only lived because a quick fix medic was just there at the time as I got a headshot and was running with my gun at him, he body shot me or headshot me it a blur. but yeah
As always, it’s nice to see a casual spy commentary. Also, I suggest you work on your revolver aim a bit because even l’etranger packs a punch if your shots hit. I think it would be cool to see a Hintshot aim training arc!
I need an arc like that for aim in general. Agree with your L’Etranger point, though: if you can actually hit your shots, it still does good enough damage to function as an actual weapon despite the damage penalty. And if you can’t aim (like me)…well, that means the other revolvers aren’t gonna do s$&@ for you anyway. Honestly though, my own general aim arc likely wouldn’t start at the revolver: aim isn’t great, but still probably on the higher end of things I need to work on (aka anything that isn’t a minigun, sticky launcher, or Iron Bomb- wait, that got fixed). Would probably start with scattergun and rocket aim, particularly the former with acclimating to the extra speed of scout over just meatshoting people as engineer. Scout is fun if I can find a good matchup, but I almost always miss at least half my shots (at point blank…) and rely on my pocket pistol to finish them.
I love how HintShot is a spy main but they're not a trickstabby spy main, he isin't trying to exploit back hitboxes or stab you from the front or anything, he's just acting, using disguses, good positioning, etc.
i find that the best thing to do as a spy when a spy on ur team is chaining the other team is to disguise as a class with ur melee out and just hand around (and act like a player thats chasing the spy but hes being cautious) until u get an opportunity for a stab
id advice dropping the disguise when you are behind enemy lines and are going to go to their spawn, since you know, spawnhax, especially in badwater where they can see you from a mile away
Oh, I was in this vid. I’m the shortstop scout that appears throughout the video. I remember debating if this was the ‘’real’’ hintshot. Nice to know it was. ggs.
Technically true with conditions. We all know that 3+ spies meme, HintShot himself said that’s terrible unless they’re all god tier, which they’re usually far from it. By that same logic, though, even if you do only have 1-2 spies, the chances that they’re skilled enough to get any serious work done aren’t that high.
As a spy main, my rationale is to play enough spy in hopes that there would exist a scenario where going spy isn’t a total throw so I keep picking him until I’m that good at the character.
I'll be honest, I'm more drawn towards discussion videos, like some of yours that brought me to your channel. However, these gameplay videos are really nice. Nothing fancy, just simple upfront gameplay. Your voice, your playstyle, and the mix of the microphone with the gameplay just makes for really nice and relaxing background entertainment. Very nice.
I'm currently doing a Enforcer Enjoyer Run with Spy, instead of L'tranger I run Enforcer. Until I get 1000 kills with it, please note I'm not doing it effectively. Big Earner, Enforcer, Cloak and Dagger, and Red Tape Recorder. So far 25 kills on the Enforcer, 670+ sapped buildings, and 1300+ kills on my Big Earner
Don’t sap the tele entrance immediately. Shoot it first a couple of times. The engineer will run right to his teleported when he says spy’s sapping my teleported. He’s less likely to run to the teleported if it’s only getting damaged and might wrist off the damage completely if it is the entrance. After shooting for a bit, then sap the tele and finish the job.
people say backpedaling makes you look like a teammate, has anyone seen their teammate (not a spy) actually backpedal into their team, cause they just run right in, not backpedaling, yet people still believe the backpedaling teammate isn't a spy, despite disguised spies being the only ones who backpedal, most of the time, it's run at your team, if your being chased, then backpedal. idk
You are trying to sell me on the big earner but I'm not buying. YER is generally more viable for chain stabs, and Kunai is better for escapes after stabs. BE has a couple niche use cases like catching up with a scout after a backstab or going for a trickstab after a stab, but I still think it's the most unremarkable knife unlock.
