People so often fail to appreciate the importance of a good stomach and its associated core strength; whether used for alignment, support, or extra ugga-duggas when forearms alone are insufficient, the belly is a lad’s best friend when sending it. Superb demonstration of the foregoing principle.

Not all operators can push pull. This showed the one that can’t. Lol at least that’s what I’ve seen. Keep it up dude you do some nice work. Enjoy watching👍

I too have had two 'colds' this season, and still I'm coughing my head off each day for a few minutes. Man, it wears you out, doesn't it? Nice repair on that bail., I can imagine the real test of your welds will come soon enough, I'm also pretty sure those welds will pass the test.
Having seen the push/pull units worked in the field, it is amazing the steel and the welds hold up as well as they do. I've seen the machines working. The back unit pushes to help load the front unit which usually takes 90+/- seconds and the front unit pulls the back unit via the bail you just repaired and they will load the back unit in about 50-60sec. A 627 hauls about 25 yds, a 637 hauls about 35, and a 657 hauls about 45yds. It is an amazing sight to see the dirt just come spilling over the sides of the bowl.
The Goat of welding! Awesome repair brotha. Kurtis did one too and he said he lets it cool before closing it completely because they get so hot and to let out the fumes and moisture. I liked how you did something similar by doing half and then the other bottom half.

This is my second viewing.... I love the push-pull units. Yes, I worked at the CAT Decatur, IL plant where they are built. I expected you to dye check the other side at the pivot end. U definitely know what you are doin, so I gather U hadn't seen any reason to check that side.
Not getting off the stinger in time and the front scraper turned sharp when the back scraper was still hooked up . Beginners unless the bail ram failed . I have jigs for 637s And 657s .
A point of interest. The crack that you found on the other butt weld, was at the edge of the weld in the heat affected zone (HAZ) of the pipe to pipe weld. It is very likely the crack started because of a stress riser caused by sharp edge in the weld to pipe joint. If the welds you completed were ground down, this would eliminate those stress risers. I know it’s more work, but with the butt welds ground flush, when the PT is done, circumferential cracks are easy to see. Also with all stress risers removed from the HAZ, cracking is much less likely
we would heat treat these by building a big fire and laying the arch in the coals and covering in sand overnight. seemed to help with the fatigue cracking

Thumbs up for the shopping cart alone. I am stunned though that this elaborate process should be cheaper than a mass-produced and fairly straightforward-looking spare part from Caterpillar. On a more OSHA note, I've discovered this excellent silicone rubber half-mask called the GVS Elipse, it is less that $30 and has very convenient elastic headbands. I use it for woodworking, especially while sanding. It would be great to see you use something like that when spraying paint, and worry a bit less about your health. Although it might mean shaving the magnificent beard. I have not found a really beard-friendly lung protection yet.

To fix stubborn nosey throaty chesty ills, try your favourite pizza but with extra garlic sauce. You will wake up like a fish out of water, but when you go get in the shower, that crap in your throat will be screaming to get out! Make it suffer and wave it goodbye as it goes down the drain! 😂😂😂😂😂 It always cries out to me "I have a wife and phlegm to support!" You were running beads for most of the passes, then doing what looked like stitches (or dimes) rather than a continuous bead for the cap. Hard to tell because it's sped up but did I see that right, and if so what does do for the weld?
Hey love the videos I have a question about weld's I was told that stick should be used for anything structural because it meltes the steel together but mig is like laying a bandaid over the seem is this true?
100% not true. Wire is just as strong or stronger than stick if done correctly. The people that say that have probably never welded with a proper wire setup.
Great job, seems like those bails snap to easy but I guess they're supposed to break before something more expensive does. Have you tried the cubitron 982cx pro purple discs?
What's so special about duel shield, why not use 100% gas shield inside the shop, no chipping Slag. I'm not criticizing I know you have good reason I just want to learn what it is, thanks
Penetration and elongation properties mostly but deposition rates and the ease of running out of position can be factors as well. Think of dual shield as the wire equivalent of low-hydrogen stick electrodes.
