Cartman is in his room, playing Wild Wild West and dressed up as Will Smith's version of Jim West from Wild Wild West, but becomes upset with Shelley babysitting him and the boys practising (especially when the former gives him wedgies). Meanwhile, Mr. Kitty is in heat, much to Cartman's annoyance. Later, Skyler's bandmates leave in disgust after performing a song made by Shelley. In an effort to get her back, Cartman takes a picture of Shelley and Skyler about to kiss and tries to send it to his mother via Kitty, but Shelley finds the picture with the cat and removes it.

The reason for the Wild Wild West stuff in the episode because they aired this episode on the same week when the Will Smith movie Wild Wild West came out. You probably were not alive in 1999 but in 1999 that movie was very heavily advertised.

unrelated but check out Metalocalypse. It's a comedy about the most brutal death metal band in the world. three americans, one swedish, one norwegian. they're all idiots don't have to react to it or anything but they've got a few seasons, a two specials, and a few albums

The whole spoof at the open with Cartman playing "Wild Wild West" was Matt and Trey venting their frustration towards that film. Let me explain; Wild Wild West came out around the same time as South Park - B, L & U and they barely managed to get an R rating for the South Park movie (the MPAA originally wanted to give it an NC17, meaning it couldn't be advertised). The R rating meant kids couldn't legally go see it, and reports were coming in that kids were buying tickets to Wild Wild West and sneaking into the South Park movie instead. Meaning that South Park inadvertently made Wild Wild West a tonne of money at the box office. Hence, they made fun of it in this episode.

@@k-trashradio5163 Actually, they were still working on the movie when phantom menace came out, and (accord to both Matt and Trey in their DVD commentary for the movie) half the South Park studios office team decided to bail out of work so that they could go see it, despite Matt and Trey repeatedly telling them that they couldn't go (hence the "Jakovosaurs" episode previously)

20:40 I'd say season 4 was the beginnings of him being an evil manipulator as you'll soon see with his "We gotta get rich" schemes, although season 5's "Scott Tenorman Must Die" was the turning point for sure.

skylar might be my favorite character out of all the ones that only show up in 1-2 episodes. I also used to watch this when i was young, now Im also 22 it hits way different shelly is literally 12 lmao when you have seen every episode dozens of times its the subtle jokes that still get me and just matt and trey doing all the voices.

The thing about Cartman is that no matter how despicable he is, he's never irredeemable. There are times in the show (be it seldom) that Cartman cares about others and does the right thing.
