When I was growing up I had a neighbor that was from the Philippines and she made cookies similar to these. They melted in your mouth when you ate them! Oh they were so good!

Goodness gracious! Totally forgotten about these kind of cookies. Used to eat them in the '50s back in M'sia. Of course during that time we had only the plain flat and round ones. Will have to bake them for grand kids now. Appreciate your sharing this recipe. Thank you very much.

Just made these. Nice! If they are still a little bit warm, they are still a bit soft on the inside which makes you eat half of the batch. I am gonna make these again today, and try my convection oven (with a van). I'll let you know how this turnes out. Edit: Not a good idea, that oven. In my gas oven, my complete baking tray is filled so the small oven needs 4 baking cycles. Plus, I found out you can't use parchment paper in the convection oven. It burns black x-)

This recipe gives so much cookies, I had to bake twice. Maybe 60 cookies. Luckily the second batch of batter can be saved for later.
