Call me crazy but there's something I absolutely love about simple maintenance. Requires no effort or any skill to do but there's just something about doing that small task that makes the Machine better and last.

I worked at Kirby Products in the 1980 making air filters for cars. I tested them for serviceability. Those filter when air is blown from the inside to the outside will be renewed. I tested the clogging of them using fine dust. So they can be reused.

I’d like to hear more about the skid steer. I’m in the market for a used machine and was defaulting to New Holland due to the luck that I have had with them. CAT sells itself, in a way, but machine talk is my love language. 😂😂😂😂

Be nice if you wipe down the inside of the cab with all that dust where you before you put a new filter in it like using air hose to blow out all the superficial dust inside the cab would make it moe better

Matt had a old ass 236b but it didn't have shit for hrs on it absolute great machine definitely one hell of a tool can only imagine how strong that one is

Looks like you need to take some soap and water to it...inside and out....mint last even longer..

You might want to take this thing to a full service car wash. That thing needs a good cleaning inside and out.

Basic maintenance keeps it running for years if only ppl did that to their vehicles often

Damn. I spend 7-10hrs a day In my backhoe at work. I sweep it out every day. I have a Portable vacuum to get to the hard to reach spots. Grease every day I dig. Have Windex and towels for the windows. I have Sirius satellite radio in there. I would never let my machine get this dusty. My commuter car that I don't get paid to clean is another story.

Maybe use a vacumcleaner inside the holes, before mounting the new filters.

The real reason its reliable is because you maintain it properly. The rentals i see people get, they only put fuel in it and wonder why they dont work after a month of constant use

You should take out those filters a little more often and blow them out with an airhose. (It is cheap and will clean up the air even more.

By the way, try to get most of the dust out before you change just to give yourself more time before you need more filters

Most of the time you need to wash out the evaporator core . They plug up solid.

No it's nice to see that you're doing maintenance on your equipment because proper maintenance can mean the most reward when selling your equipment to buy a newer piece of equipment and remember if you can keep all your equipment the same model same make you can get up to a $48,000 tax credit from the US government for parts. For each piece of equipment that is the same make and model per year 48,000 in parts if your standardized your equipment just saying

Cleaned filter daily at work because we dug in sand. Pounds of dirt fell out. No fancy take it the shop for a mere filter change out. We got work to do.

Before you change out the cabin filter you need to get a damp rag and wipe down the hole entire inside of that thing Maybe even a light hosing Changing out the filters is not enough

Clean the cabin!

It is of extreme most importance that you keep the cabin clean from the dust outside. Most people think it's a joke and a drive for example with the front window open on skid sters and excavators and other equipment. In a dusty dry environment this is One of the stupidest thing you can do.. The dust fibers are very fine and when inhaled they can penetrate deep into the lungs, where they in the worst cases can develop pneumoconiosis (silicosis), tumors and lung cancer. I do not know how much construction workers are aware of this problem but it's an extreme big problem. And it's very dangerous for everyon.. That's why you have double filters.. You can even buy coal filters.. It is important to keep the cab that you sit in clean from dust. So before you enter the cab for example kick off the dirt from your Shoes, If uou have a lot of dust on you before you enter the cab use compressed air to blow it off, You can use compressed air to blow out the cab as well. Now a lot of you think that I can't do that every time because it wouldn't be any work done. I understand that.. It depends on how much dust it is. But at least do it once every day if it is dusty.. Remember that no one will thank you at the end of your life for being stupid and Sacrifice your health for the work. Your health is the most important thing you have.

Need to do some cleaning on the inside of your cab and give it a tub.

Maintenance promots reliability

We have a 304, 305 and a skiddy all from cat. Nothing but injector problems on every machine. Cat isn't what it used to be. All within the first 100 hours

Need to let a power washer loose in that cab hell looks like pigpen lives in there

Where is the ENGINE AIRE prefilter? It expells 10x the dirt before it gets to the air filter. They make some for cabin filters too.

I need to see you use a dry ice blasting machine to detail your skid steer, this needs to occur, please make it so.
