It says a lot for this rescuer that Mow Mow has lived to such an advanced age with only one chronic health problem. She has a beautiful healthy coat, clear eyes, and excellent mobility and cognition. If Mow Mow's mum ever wants to offer tips on how to care for cats, I'll be right at the front of the queue taking notes! What an inspiring story of a gorgeous old cat and the human who loves her so well.

I had a cat that lived to 21 🥰 she only went to the vet once, it was to be spayed. She nvr ate human food except canned tuna 🤷‍♀️ she acted as if my sons were HER babies, in return they treated her like a princess ❤️ we miss her every single day.

@@tamararozwalka3100I had two cats reach 25 before they passed on. They only went to the vet for shots and once for both for potty related problems. I miss them 😢 the one would sleep on my side and purr me to sleep. I even bought those churu tubes as treats.

i have had cats to live to 20 plus and others have passed at 13. the biggest difference is genetics. just like with people.

I think one of the secrets to her longevity is that she has a life-purpose: to foster and nurture. She is not only loved, she is needed and that keeps her going, I bet.

Clearly you think your job is to correct minor points of speech, which is a very sad purpose indeed. Because not only is it unnecessary and almost certainly unwanted, but it's counter-productive to your aim (and in the case of your comment on mine, actually wrong). How we say things matter more than what we say, and I can assure you that your manner does not come across as friendly, helpful or educational. If on the other hand your goal is to come across as a particularly nitpicky pedant, then I suppose you've accomplished this very well. Which tbh I've always assumed people like you wanted to be, though as annoying people usually isn't an effective educational method, I have always wondered why y'all choose to use it.

I had an incredible cat too for 18 and a half years. Got her in my 20’s and lost her in my 40’s….my heart was broken. Long live beautiful MowMow ❤️🙏❤️

I have a cat (technically my ex's cat) that we got when he was a kitten and I was in my 20s. My ex and I split up a long time ago and he got the cat, though it's his mom who took care of him (my ex is very allergic). So it's been almost 20 years since I've seen my kitty. He's 21 now and still alive, according to my ex, but I have not heard anything further since, so I don't know anything more. I wish I could see him one more time, like on Zoom or something (he lives in a different country now) and time is running out, but there's nothing I can do.

My co - workers cat lived till she was either 26 or 27 I can't remember which one but at one of the last appointments the vet was shocked to realise that the cat was older than the vet 😂 Your Mow Mow is a wee star with the puppies 💕🐈

I have a cat who adopted my nervous rescue dog. He loved her. She hopped out of the car when we stopped to let the dogs pee in a field, while moving to another city, in a semi-rural area. Through a tiny crack in the window. She was pissed that she hadn't been let out with the dogs, as she always went on potty walks with them. Time passed X a lot. I asked that dog if he could go find kitty. They returned within 45 minutes, trotting along together. :)

You were fortunate that your dog found your cat and the two of them returned. I know of someone who's cat ran out of the car and they were never able to find her. A nightmare for them. My cat is in a carrier whenever she is in the car. Take no chances of an escape.

So cute, and she must be a very happy cat to have lived to 19! A long time ago now, my then-roomie's cat seemed to prefer the company of dogs as well. Once we had another lovely cat stay w/us, but my roomie's cat disappeared in the apt. She was not having it. Yet she would hang around my dogs, sit for treats, play fetch w/her toy mice, enjoy bathroom time, and sleep in bed w/the pack. She was also a great conversationalist & cuddler. (RIP, Mitzi). Back to MowMow, she's a regular Cat Ambassador.💕🐈😉

This cat has the most beautiful face, something about her eyes. She is very unique in her dealing with dogs. I have had many cats in my life but 4 have been soulmates. Sounds like that's what she is to you. I pray she has many healthy years.

This makes me ache for my Winston who died suddenly during Memorial Day weekend. I thought I was ‘over’ it but this also gray cat made my arms feel empty again. I am waiting for another kitty to waltz into my life via the “Cat Distribution System”!

I thought she was a tortie at first, but her fur looks more gray overall, so it is very surprising MowMow has lived this long. Of course, having your cat live indoors and upkept with their health is key to a cat's longevity 😉

I had a wonderful cat that I got as a rescue that had chronic kidney issues from about 4 months old when I got him. I found it helped to keep fresh water in a glass bowl kept fresh but I only gave him bottled water not tap water. He had some issues but I also fed him Science Diet prescription food as well he lived until he was 21. I still miss him terribly. Love this story on your beautiful kitty❤❤❤

Author was 19 also, he was the neighborhood cat, play dates, barbecue buddies,etc. my rental says no animals so he fill my needs. He passed , l still miss him

All animals have their own, unique personalities, just like human beings. In my experience, I'll go so far as to say some cats and dogs I've known are smarter and more compassionate than humans. 😊 Enjoy your pets! They're lucky to have you, it's obvious that you're a loving pet Mom. ❤
