Jesse, omg, i don't know how to thank you enough for this guide! You helped me learning the tactics in so many ways! Please keep this up and continue doing this, because you didn't only help me, but all wow players trying to learn and understand what Blizzard trows at us! Thank you so much! If you aren't a legend in RL, you certainly become one in WOW!
(SladieWolf talkin') Wanted to tell ya, love your guides, they are so easy to follow and it's really well explained. I've been forceing my raid group to watch your FL fights because honestly, I haven't found one video that comes close to yours.
I really, really, really, enjoy the way you make your videos. You're like that cool professor in college that lectures, but in a fun way so it doesn't seem like such a drag. :P
I played the 14 day trial for the original WoW about 7 years ago or something, apart from that I never played it, so this all looks very complicated and I don't understand what's going on, but I still enjoy watching Jesse explain it :)
Dude I don't even play or like WoW and I enjoy watching these guides. Love the vids, keep 'em coming. Though you might want to see about getting your soul back from Blizzard some time.
@LifeHasLived The fight does not require any specific composition. Ranged COULD help for quicker aoe of the adds and switching from the drone, but melee can do the job just fine. Simply assign a dps to each set of the spiderlings to get them down and then burn the drone! Melee or ranged can do this equally as well, provided they are skilled and experienced players, which sounds like it may be more of the issue you are having.
@OMFGcata Well it is possible, we did it, but we did send 1 DPS up to her, but only once, at the start, and for the 2nd and 3rd devastates we had all DPS at the bottom. We had 1 DPS on killing spinners, 2 for spiderlings, and 2 for drones. Beth'tilac was at 85% when she hit phase 2. Anything higher though, will end in a wipe, as you said.
Just did this last night, was a fun fight, but it's worth mentioning that the boss hits really hard, and it's recommended that the tank going up top should pop a cd as they go up the web so you don't get a near instant tank death.
@OMFGcata Hey Jesse, I saw you had a couple of 10man attempts, did you notice if it was harder then the 25man? Because we did this with 3 healers in 10man and the last phase seemed a LOT harder to heal then what I saw you guys doing :P Any chance you cuold tell me the difference between 10 and 25? (we also downed it on 4 attempts tho :))
@Larsoney I'll answer that question for him. I'm sure he wont mind and would agree that critical healing allows you to spam your more efficient spells much easier without having to worry about their efficiency. As for myself, I play a Holy Paladin and can say without a doubt that crit is now a viable stat for all healers but if your concerned with consistent efficiency you will still need the right amount of haste.
@Imtoold I would suggest Lord Ryolith, although it is complicated to skip Shannox over and over again. If you can manage to kill Shannox both Ryolith and Beth'tilac should fall over easy for you.
Hey jesse, For the team up top wouldn't a warlock in demonology be sufficient? we have abilities to heal our demons(the tank) by taking some of our own, and can use a life drain ability to raise our health by taking the boss. so we have a tank, and a healer that also can do damage. plus the demon is expendable and with soul burn we have 3 tries to keep the tank alive.
@SoaringBricks These dps-race burn phases always seem much easier to me on 25man than on 10man. I think he also mentioned that the spiderlings spawn from the 4 corners in 25 man, where in 10man it's simply randomly 1 spot. So you don't have a couple dedicated kill teams.
This strategy is rather gear dependent, so keep that in mind if you're going to be attempting it. You'll likely need healers and DPS that are in at least a decent amount of 372+ gear to kill her before her AoE oneshots half the raid. She was getting close to that on our kill, she had 22 stacks of Frenzy, which is not pleasant.
@OMFGcata further proof of the horde's superiority, other than vodka, on my server there are no guilds that have downed every boss without some extreme luck,or being carried
@Anailxx That's a dps problem right thar. Boss is very easy with decent dps. Only send one guy up- if you have good and well geared tanks/healers the boss doesn't need low hp when p2 starts. We downed it when the boss went down with 90%.
@OMFGcata My group did it on 10m with 3 healers and 5 dps this week, didn't seem to have too many problems. Just save lust for burn phase and assuming everyone knows their stuff, should be fine. We were even running with a demo lock and BM hunter which are far from ideal, so it's definitely doable.
@sadabetas The boss hits was hitting our blood DeathKnight tank for 50k. The pet will not survive and is not worth risking unless your group is so strapped on DPS that you need the healer and tank spot replaced. If you are resorting to this you likely won't be able to kill the other bosses in here though so I would consider a less risky strategy.
My guild seems to have problems on 10 man when trying to down beth'tilac, i dont know if it was a dps issue or not but the drones just wouldn't die fast enough and then the second one would come and we'd get overwhelmed by having two drones then there would be a ton of spiderlings still up for some reason. Mega sadface because its an easy fight. Either way thanks for the vid and grats on the kill jesse :]
@FlakeUK Half if not more of our gear is item level 372. The gear that drops is barely an upgrade so its not surprising that we knock over these fights. Find videos of guilds will considerably less gear and you will see MUCH slower kill times.
the problem our guild had on this fight was that when beth dropped down she ate some of the spiderlings that gave her more health, once we did that it was just a dps burn during p2 making sure that the tanks moved out on windows kiss. EEEZZZ mode
@EliteRocketBear We had done the fight on the PTR, heavily researched the "starts" and even put in some attempts the night before. It is NOT as easy as it is made out to be, but certainly one of the easier fights in there.
@LifeHasLived Yup we were able to do it no problem with 3 tanks and 7 healers. Any 25 man group not running with mostly 372s should definitely bring less healers and more dps, or attempt to put your best single target dps up top to help burn the boss.
@OMFGcata haha okay well i was just wondering like omg does he have 2 lvl 85 shammy's! :P.i reallly like the video's its really helping me to get to know the bosses. i am gonna go do some raids with my guild soon so fingers crossed :D.
Okay I just have to ask why do people chain heal spam? It's such a waste, you could chain heal then throw out the 2 smaller buffed heals then repeat, why doesn't anyone else do that?...
My guild must suck because we wiped on her for two and a half hours last night, getting her down to 50% was our best attempt. But then again we were 3 weeks behind.
@wtfgamer96 There are only a handful of Horde guilds that actually raid seriously on this server, however there is out guild and then another guild that was ranked 47th in the world last tier. So there is really just two extremes.
I don't know if anyone else is doing the same thing, but timewalking raids are a thing. this week its Firelands timewalking. these guides will help me and my guild go and do this raid again!
@MrMcStatus It's very easy. We killed this boss on 10 man(the harder raid size) in 5 attempts, having no idea what to do. Since the fight is so buggy we kept DCing too. Baleroc is kinda difficult, but then again we didn't even read strats for it. Maybe if you know how to do the healer/tank rotation it's easy. Alysrazor isn't too hard, but it's a long fight with a lot of ways to slip up.
@AceTwoMax Yes there is when totalbiscuit says "Jesse you incompetent fool, you have no use or skill in this game do you?" then jesse says in his weird italian accent "You son of a bitch!"
