For anyone looking for the score, it is Benedicamus IX in the Codex. Thanks for introducing me to this charming piece. I’m giving a recital in a 13th century church in my parish and will be playing this.
Tremendously beautiful. You play like every sound is bliss. I love how you pull the music out of (and move with) the long, sustained notes. Perchance someday I'll get the opportunity to write for you.
Music from another world. I love the major 2nds and the augmented 4ths resolving up to Perfect 5ths. (I love your smile and your hair and your eyes too, AND the way you looked right at us [chill down my spine], and ran off stage. Perfect.)
I have a question: why do you prefer to hold the portative on your leg like that? Can you hear better? Does it have an influence on your performance? Thanks.
Portative organs were intended to be portable. The slightly larger versions, known as positive ('positive' meaning placeable) organs, were placed on table tops.
