Your videos are awesome and soooo helpful! I am trying to decide on a resort in Costa Mujeres for a family and friends trip next summer (June 2023). My husband and I have been to Majestic Elegance but not Catalonia. We loved Majestic and I just don’t want to feel like I made the wrong choice!
Really depends what you’re looking for! Catalonia is cheaper than Majestic and will have significantly more children (good or bad depending on if you have little kids traveling with you). If you’d like my assistance in finding and booking the right resort for you, please fill out this form: memoriesandmojitos.com/quote-request/
Thank you for taking us along on your trip! The only questions I do have is after watching your video and many others I can’t find if the hours have changed since Covid has laxed a bit. I heard you mention 11 o’clock is when they started serving liquor but is it true that most places are also all closed by 11 o’clock?
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing. We are considering Catalonia for our upcoming family vacation in February. I do have one question. Do you know know if they have any ocean view/front rooms. It is really hard to tell from their website since non of them say that. Thansk.
@@MemoriesandMojitosTravel Thank you so much. Also, we are interested in the Costa Mujeres area. What are your thoughts on the differences between Riu Dunnamar and Catalonia? What are you likes/dislikes about each?
Thank you so much, watched all your videos- is room service only for privileged guests? I'm trying to upgrade but right now it's looking VERY pricy unfortunately :(
Love the video! Are the swim up rooms right across from the main pool? We just booked this resort and got the privileged family suite swim up room. We are traveling with 2 kids under 4 and would prefer the room to be not right where the main pool is as it might get too loud when kids are napping. Appreciate your reply!
Hello! loved your video! we have booked this room for Feb. 2022. I have a few questions hoping you can ask; Are all the restaurants open? And the food is good? My husband didn't like our last resort (which I thought was great) primarily due to food options. How far is this from shopping and restaurants off property? Do you have daily cleaning service. will they come pull down the bunk beds at night? Is the ocean water rough? Give me honest Cons! Thanks so much :)
How is the sun at the pools? It appears that the main pools are crammed in between the complexes. Do the guests play the towel game there? The resort seems very compact, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Both pools were sunny until a decent hour, but that changes depending the month you’re there. Towel game is everywhere! I have zero issue moving a towel if it’s just a towel and I need a seat. The resort is compact, but hr beach is so large it doesn’t feel tiny.
Thank you for the feedback. My wife, 2 children (ages 17 and 19) and I have been to many all-inclusives in the Caribbean and seem to gravitate towards Mexico or Jamaica. I’ve been to Cancun (hotel zone properties and Moon Palace) and Playa del Carmen a few times each. We thought about going somewhere south of Playa del Carmen, like Puerto Adventuras, but that is 1 1/2 hours from the airport. Catalonia Costa Mujeres is only 45 minutes from the airport. And there is less seaweed north of the hotel zone. Great value too!
Is it loud ? I mean from what I see all the rooms are near the pools ? So do we hear all the noise coming from there? I am looking for a 5 star hotel for feb. Would you say its good for a couple? How id the beach? Thanks alot
I wouldn’t call this a five star resort. This is a budget property. You can see the beach in the video. I’d connect with your travel agent to go over specific details on if it’s right for you!
Yes. It’s my understanding the umbrellas they bought have been held up with Covid shipping delays. I’ve had clients bring a shibumi shade to places that don’t provide enough cover. Give it a Google. It’s relatively small and easy to pack
