The first step of any boat build is building the hull. In this week's episode we show you the third Seawind 1370 in build, demonstrating the first stage of a boat build. We also take you on a tour of our local neighbourhood and go on a mission to buy some lamps! (Yes, you read that correctly).

To see Vietnam as a modern, prospering country is such a great reaffirmation. As a baby boomer who was intimately involved in the war years, it is a great relief!

As an older American the only images I have of VietNam are from the war (American Aggression?) I am really appreciating seeing HoChiMin City as a modern city while retaining the traditional aspects of all the street vendors and food stalls. This is as interesting to me as the boat details so I think this was a perfect episode. Love you guys!

Trying to remind myself of the numbers and probability chances as relates to scooter accidents. Probably not any worse than busy traffic anywhere, but I watch a lot of car crash video channels, and the ones with scooters and run-away trucks in the Asian countries are pretty terrifying. The traffic patterns bear a striking resemblance to a deck of cards being shuffled by a magician on a bad day! LOL

I got into trouble with “that word” as well. I said that a friend was a very “homely” girl when I should have said “homey”. I haven’t lived it down for 63 years! Great video, love seeing all the detail! Question (and I apologize if I missed the detail in a previous video or you will be covering it in a future one), is the foam core that they are laying down on these new hulls vacuum formed into the shape of the hull prior to placing them in and infusing the resin, or is it flexible enough to meet the contour? Or are there a bunch of cuts that allow it to take the shape.
@michiganengineer8621
@michiganengineer8621 2 года назад
At 4:29 it looked like the coring is sliced to let it bend easier.
@kirkb3473
@kirkb3473 2 года назад
@@michiganengineer8621 I noticed that as well, but sometimes foam material like this has a grid printed on it from the manufacturer, it does not necessarily mean it has been cut. Having a bunch of cuts would give more spaces that need to be filled up with resin, thereby adding unnecessary weight to the boat, which is not great for a performance oriented boat. SeaWind has put so much thought and care into this new model I doubt this is the case, but just curious to know.

@@sailingrubyrose Hi! I would need to get a small pickup with a flat bed to haul the quantity of items my Chinese wife selects when grocery shopping! It is amazing to go grocery shopping with her. The level of detail she uses in selecting produce and meats is impressive. She's a great cook and loves a well stocked kitchen with fresh items. My wife and I are discussing catamaran choices for offshore and long range sailing within the next two to three years. An efficient kitchen with large capacity storage for appliances, dry goods, fresh produce, frozen and refrigerated goods is a high priority item. A happy wife, a happy life! I hope to see more of your cultural exploration of the city. I do regret the stigma some parts of so called civilization have earned due to closed mindedness and lack of education and for that I apologize. Two bathrooms in a two bedroom apartment? And people still classify Vietnam as Third World? I would wager they are not dumping garbage scows into the Sea.
