It annoys me that people just come onto these videos to complain about seeing the butchering of meat. They know what they're in for, it says it multiple times and it mentions it in the title so they're only here because they have a taste for arguing

I'm glad to see him catching snowshoe hares since I think they're still plentiful in his country, but sad to see him ripping and I imagine discarding most of the pelts. Great technique for survival, but if you've got the time nothing beats free (even if time consuming) warm, and beautiful snow-camo clothing!

Hey wooded beardsman. First of all this is the 2nd video I've seen and so far I am really digging the raw and unpolished content. Secondly I want to take a moment to tell you that I really like the fact that you take your son to teach him about stuff like this (firemaking, cooking, hunting and etc). And on a final note I'd like to end with saying keep up the good work looking forward to new stuff but also going to watch older videos.

I honestly usually skip the bushcraft vids where people bring their kids along. It is usually just less about the craft and more about the time with the child, which is fine just not my cup of tea, but somehow I stayed the whole video this time. It was the first time where I actually enjoyed it. Thanks for keeping it on point and major kudos to junior for being a great sport, interested, and well behaved. I should have known better. It's still a W.B. video so of course it was still gold.

Regarding the talk at the end: Thank you for making videos like this. I completely understand what you mean, your videos were/are the only videos I've watched like this, and at first it did trigger that reflex of its a furry animal type thing. But the more and more I watch your videos, the more I get used to it and understand it is food. So I just wanted to say thank you. I'm 20 and just like you, I'm growing that hunting feeling inside, it feels like something I want to do in the future to grow and learn. I don't want to be in my late 20s early 30s and see a dead animal that will be prepared for food and be put off by it, it is a natural thing. So again, thank you. Keep doing what you're doing cause many of us enjoy the videos and learn from it.
@TheWoodedBeardsman

I completely understand where you are coming from. It's tough at first, and I'm watching my son go through the process. At first he nearly blacked out when I did a squirrel in the kitchen, just last week we butchered a goat, a GOAT, it was a big animal and he was right in there looking around and finding all the organs. He went from nearly passing out, to master gutter inside of just a few months. It's tough, but it's not supposed to be easy. Take your time and learn at your own pace.

I'm just going to say that if only 10 people out of the 30000 who watched this decide to spend time outdoors, it has all been worth it. I feel like I've escaped the onslaught of technology by the skin of my teeth. I'm entrenched in it now but the fact that it isn't all I know makes a world of difference. I worry about the next generations who might grow up totally insulated from nature and might never get to know it beyond "something pretty to look at".

Yeah, and it's those same people complaining about what we do to keep natural places alive by using them in a way that makes it so that we desire protecting them. If you don't use it, then you have no problem putting up a mall or parking lot. It's nuts. Hunters are the ones out there keeping places like this from being spoiled.

Snow flakes? Is it standard for you to lob insults to anyone with a differing opinion? I don’t mind hunting, but I’m not a fan of snares, so get over yourself.

as you say,,if you dont like seeing animals being caught/cut up and eaten WATCH SOMETHING ELSE...but,its a shame you cant show how to gut out,,so many people would benefit from seeing it all...BTW, you can watch someone getting their bits cut off and being transformed from man to woman on uk tv, but you cant show a hare being prepped...

he's more than allowed to show that stuff for educational purposes, my guess is that he decided not to show it so his video wouldnt get demonitized for not being family friendly. i've literally watched multiple videos educating people how to prep game/food in general.
@kylel.1965
@kylel.1965 5 лет назад
@@okannam What's your point? RU-vid hold channels hostage by dictating the terms in which said channels can profit. Doesn't WB deserve to be paid for his efforts? He obviously doesn't like having to live with these restrictions, he has said so more than once, but he does what is necessary to profit from his work and educational efforts, just as he should.

I am trying to get over that problem. I want to learn how to hunt and catch my own food, but I'm squeamish. This is the first video I'm watching. I'll let you know how it turns out. 😂

I prefer the educational side of things with cleaning the guts and the like of the animals as well. I know it gets you a lot of grief, but I think it's fantastic that you're helping give resources to those of us who didn't grow up knowing and learning how to hunt and gather our own food. Thanks for the great content.
@TheWoodedBeardsman
@TheWoodedBeardsman 6 лет назад
It's not the grief, I can handle that, it's YT will age restrict the content...not bad, right, well it puts your video in a place that means it can't get ads or be promoted. Most of the views of any channel come from YT specifically promoting the video.

Just found your channel and videos. I'm not a bush crafter, but I find these sorts of videos really fun to watch and interesting even though I live in the suburbs and have never been camping a day in my life. I thought I'd let you know that I wouldn't have minded seeing the skinning and gutting even though I totally understand why you left it out. Very cool watching you set the snares, catch and prepare food. I love how excited your son was when you handed him the kebab and it is so heartwarming to see you teaching him these skills. GREAT video!
