Andy is dropped off by Bill, on the Burdekin River in North Queensland Australia west of Townsville for a 2 day, 1 night adventure and river explore. Andy fishes along the way catching many Sooty Grunter and cooking a couple of nice fish. Some of the fish are sight cast with Mako sunglasses. The first fish is cooked on plain old open fire coals. The second fish is prepared again on an open fire, but this time fried up in a frying pan. Ingredients used are chilli ( chili ), ginger, garlic, shallots, oil, fish, coriander. Some of the ingredients are used to make a delicious Salsa while the rest of the spices and herbs are used in the cooking of the fish.
There are some interesting sights and spectacular scenery as andy walks along the Burdekin river to meet up with Bill on the next day. Using the Samaki Zing 6” 10-20lb rod as well as the Fin-nor rampage 3000 reel in conjunction with Lively lures, namely the 75mm Assassin, a great all round fresh and salt water lure to catch many types of fish. Also 20 pound braid was used together with 20 and 30 pound fluorocarbon leader made by Black Magic.

That underwater footage still amazes me- I'm guessing you have to pre-set cameras in good looking spots then fish over them or something? However you do it it's next level. And I'm a vote for longer videos- I definitely prefer to just sit down and watch for a good slab of time. Awesome stuff!
@hanna2nv
@hanna2nv 7 лет назад
Yea the usual way is to get a waterproof camera obviously and find a nice spot and fish in front of the camera. The secret part is. It might take 20-50 spots to get it right haha

The meal you had looked awesome and the freshness of the ingredients is making my mouth water now. 10,000 likes you're asking for on one video? I'm lucky to get 10,000 views and it proves your channel is exploding (well deserved). Congratulations on passing my subs total. (it's not quite there yet but by the time you see this it will probably be over my subs, lol) You da man!

Hey Richard, cool to see you here again. I've still got almost 9k to go to reach you, but I am hoping that these videos will boost my numbers a bit more than what I was doing. You're still one of my mentors.

I try to reply to all my new messages, every day. It may be helping me or not, I don't know. Finding replies to message replies is a pain the bum, so they get missed at times. But all new messages get replies. I'll check out Tube Buddy, never heard of it. I use Social Blade a lot, good for checking out how channels are doing over time. I have pretty much decided that YT is just such a random place.

Great video, the underwater shots were awesome. I like this new overnight, hiking, camping, fishing and cooking. I laughed at the part you used a stick as a fork. I did the same last year during deer opener. Forgot to bring my fork for my noodles so I cut a small stick and use it as forks. Then later I cut two small one and use it as chopsticks, work like a charm. Lol!

Cool. I quite like using bush sticks as tools and cutlery, I have carved spoons before, but that takes a little longer.

You are lucky you live in Australia, even through there is a lot of small poisonous animals there is no big mammals so you can just wall through forests. Here in North America you can't just walk through forests with all the bears, wolves, cougars, and coyote.
@Alan.livingston
@Alan.livingston 7 лет назад
Down south it's not bad, try it up north and see how far you get when a salt water croc is busy tucking your carcass under a log. Lots of people find out each year that the northern water ways aren't to be taken lightly.
@tomback3238
@tomback3238 7 лет назад
Alan Livingston agreed. And i wouldn't call a brown snake a small poisonous animal. The north is desolate and dangerous if you dont know what your doing

We have dingoes, some massive snakes. At least most of your beaches you can swim in. Up north where I live, there's no swimming. There are water holes you can swim in though. But from where I am, it's a hour thirty min drive.

I like that you only keep what you are actually going to eat. I hate the catch and cook videos where they just catch as much as they can and way more than they can eat. It seems wasteful and disrespectful in my opinion.

Hi Andy, In Thailand, there are a lot of places that you could fish for barramundi's, usually would head up to fishing pond, mangrove places sometimes. But, we've got more than just barramundi. Giant catfish, hampala, giant snakeheads, but it depends on the season.
@Andysfishing
@Andysfishing 7 лет назад
I am more interested in fish I don't or can't catch in Australia. Your Catfish, Hampala, Snakehaeds etc (Peacock Bass)? and many more interest me.
@Andysfishing
@Andysfishing 7 лет назад
Arapaima, Carp, more Catfish, they all interest me more than Barramundi.
@DjayZaJay
@DjayZaJay 7 лет назад
Peacock bass are hard to find, Just some places that people release down lake,ponds. all over is easy to find.
